This week's PDQ Player of the Week belongs to another future Florida Gator, and a prospect who we highlighted in our Diamond Notes just two weeks ago: RHP Tyler Nesbitt (Labelle, 2019). We already know of Nesbitt as one of the top pitching prospects in the state, and he continues to solidify that status with a series of phenomenal starts to begin the season. Last week's start was his most impressive yet. In a complete game no-hitter, Nesbitt struck out 11 batters and allowed his first walk of the season in the sixth inning, ending his bid for a perfect game.

Scouting Report

10/13/18 - 6-foot-3, 185-pound right-handed pitcher, lanky, athletic frame. Long, loose arm action, quick arm speed, high-3/4 slot. Repeats delivery consistently. Fastball sat 89-92 topping at 94 mph with run. Slider is a plus-pitch, repeated swing and miss, 80-82. Showed feel for sinking changeup, 84-85. The righty saw an increase in his stock from his performance, routinely hit spots and induced weak contact. An athletic frame and feel for three pitches has him with the ability to project as a potential starter at the next level.
