PBRT Florida Open: Day 1 Scout Blog

The PBRT Florida Open kicked off Friday with action from the 15u and 17u division. The event is four days long with champions decided on Monday. Each day we will highlight standouts with a daily scout blog. Take a look at Day 1's notes.

Sebastien Armand OF / RHP / Tarpon Springs, FL / 2025Smooth swing. Caught a barrel and drove a ball to left field for a double. Lean frame with room to grow physically.

Drew Bach 1B / Steinbrenner, FL / 2023Tall, lengthy body. Quick hands at the plate. Took a pitch to left field on a line for an RBI. Good extension on the swing.

Rory Beauford SS / 2B / Spoto , FL / 2025Athletic middle infielder. Made a few nice plays today and swung the bat well. Looks the part. Athletic frame and moves we’ll definitely. Level line drive approach with some juice off the bat.

Frank Chiliberti 1B / St. Thomas Aquinas, FL / 2023Rankings StateRank: 255 / POS: 25
Strong left handed hitter. Pull side power potential with some launch on contact. Above average bat speed. Aggressive in the box.

Tim Freundel Jr RHP / Tarpon Springs High School, FL / 20236-2, 175 pounds. Long lanky right hander up to 84 mph early. Short arm action with slight run on the FB. Gradual break on the CB. FB: 82-84 |
Ean Gimson SS / 2B / Land O Lakes , FL / 2023Standout at the UCF Summer Kickoff, Gimson continues to show hitterish actions in the box. Line drive approach and uses the whole field. Singled hard the other way.

Keston Gomez C / 3B / West Orange , FL / 2025A lot to like here. Athletic build. Efficient mover. Uses a small leg kick to generate power. Moves well behind the dish as well. One to follow.

Clay Holden C / Fayetteville Perry Local High School, OH / 2024Athletic mover in the box with a toe-tap stride. Singled up the middle and threw out a base stealer. Good instincts behind the plate.

Keith Jacobs II OF / RHP / Bishop McLaughlin , FL / 2025Athletic, projectable frame. Aggressive approach looking early in the count to attack. Drove a double to deep center. Above average runner.

Kai Lachance 3B / N/A, FL / 2025Athletic frame with some physicality already showing. Advanced approach driving a double to the right center gap and follows it up with a single. Found barrels in each AB so far.

Charlie Lini 1B / East River, FL / 2023Large projectable frame, squared shoulders, powerful lower half. Finds barrels and hits the ball hard consistently.

Jaylen Martin OF / 3B / Tampa Catholic, FL / 2025Tall and lean, athletic frame. Good speed on the base paths, instinctual runner. Flashed athleticism in the OF.

Maddox McDougall MIF / Wiregrass Ranch, FL / 2024Wiry athletic frame. Short compact stroke with more juice to come as he continues to mature. Showed some quick hands on this line out to center. On the mound, up to 85 with life on the fastball. Feel to spin the breaking ball with tight downer action.

Cameron Oliver OF / 1B / Wiregrass Ranch, FL / 2023Oliver put together a few solid ABs today. Solid approach, waits for his pitch. Worked deep counts and singled to right.

Saybian Pierre RF / Wiregrass Ranch, FL / 2023Tall, athletic frame. Fast hands, turns on balls effortlessly. Gap to gap hitter with easy pop.

MATHEW PORTA RHP / Carrollwood Day School, FL / 2025Strong bodied right hander works both sides of the plate for strikes. Fastball up to 78 with more to come as he matures.

Andres Rodriguez SS / Tarpon Springs, FL / 2025Athletic frame. Showed some feel in the box. Quick level bat path. Clean actions in the OF. Gets his hands through as he doubled in the gap.

Colin Shembekar RHP / 3B / Jesuit, FL / 2025Projectable arm. Velo will come as he matures. Balanced, repeatable delivery. Attacks hitters with arm side run on the fastball up to 77.

Ray Allen Vasquez 2B / Strawberry Crest, FL / 2023Athletic infielder showed a level, line drive swing at the plate. Aggressive early in the count with a gap to gap approach.

RYDER WARRINER C / 3B / Chamberlain, FL / 2025Athletic projectable frame. Impressive game so far from the 25’. Hits an RBI triple at the plate and threw out a runner at 3rd behind the dish. Gap to gap approach. Showed power to all fields.
