Scouting Report: 04/11/17 - Florida recruit. Currently ranked No. 15 in the Florida 2018 Class, No. 53 Overall. Currently stands at 6-foot-2, 200 pounds with a strong lower half and solid, athletic build. Confident, calm approach at the plate with above average bat speed and quick hands through the zone. Generates power with good use of his lower half as he displayed the ability to drive the ball out of the park not only on the pull side, but over the right-center field wall as well. Consistently finds the barrel and makes hard contact. Shows good patience and awareness of the strike zone. On the mound Pena displayed a quick arm with a simple delivery as his fastball was mostly in the 88-92 mph range with plenty of movement. Reached back and touched 91 into the fifth inning. Also threw a slider for strikes that sat 77-79 mph with depth. Threw a couple changeups at 81-82 mph. Impressed all throughout the week and delivered the walk-off RBI single to win the game in the bottom of the seventh in Flangan’s last game of the week.
