PBR 2019 Showcase

Gainesville, Fl. – The PBR 2019 showcase was held Wed July 22 at Santa Fe Community College for players in the 2019 class. The showcase was small but still managed to bring out some interesting young talent. In a smaller setting it’s always fun to get a chance to interact a bit more with the players than we normally would in our larger showcases. The 2019 class is still very young and hasn’t even been to High School yet but the college recruiting process seems to begin earlier each year.

This years’ 2019 showcase saw a very athletic, strong, and physically developed Parker Aultman from Graceville HS play a variety of different positions but seems more suited for catcher. He had the best exit bat speed velocity as well as the top throwing velocity. Very developed for his age. Matthew Moss worked out at infield and outfield and was very athletic and also physically developed for his age. He showed bat speed with a line drive type swing. Gap type power. The ball jumped off his bat. He also ran the best 60 time at 7.35. He will certainly attract college coaches in the future. We also had a variety of infielders with very good actions like Brandon Seekamp from Seminole HS, who was advanced for his age defensively but also had a short compact swing with some quickness in his hands. He will be fun to watch once he starts to develop physically. Garrett Danford from Sneads HS also showed very good actions in the infield with some quickness in his bat. Again, once he starts to develop physically, will be fun to follow. Jeffrey Cardazzone from Nova HS was also a big strong guy for his age, and displayed good bat strength with some present power. He had a good swing and will have big power in the near future. Elijah Tate from Bucholz HS showed very good hands in the infield with good actions. He had a very young body and just needs to continue to get stronger. Austin Galda from Hernando Christian was our only switch hitter and showed a good swing from both sides of the plate. Again, like every other player there, he just needs to continue to gain strength and will be fun to watch once he starts to develop physically.

On the mound, Tyler Owens from North Marion HS lead the way topping out at 85 mph with good secondary stuff and a loose easy working arm. He will start to get college coaches attention soon. Austin Solis from Somerset Academy showed a very good left handed curve ball. Something college coaches will start to pay attention to once he starts to develop physically. Harrison Ickes from Orlando Christian Prep showed life and deception on his fast ball and a good breaking ball for his age.
