OVIEDO--In a big matchup between two top Central Florida teams, Oviedo High School’s Cooper Bradford toed the rubber and stepped up big for the Lions. Bradford, an uncommitted 2016 RHP, went the distance and gave up two infield singles and an unearned run for the win. Bradford had a little help when 2015 C JJ Woodard hit a hanging slider off of 2016 RHP Ross Korosec for a two run bomb in the first inning.
There were a lot of goose eggs on the board until Oviedo took advantage of walks, errors and some timely hits to put 6 on the board in the fourth inning to run the score up to 8-0. Winter Springs managed to get on the board in the sixth inning to prevent the shutout but it was too little too late.
