North Marion defeated Trinity Catholic in a game that featured minimal offense and a good amount of walks. Both teams had their aces on the mound with 2016 RHP and FSU commit Brandon Reitz who started for Trinity Catholic and 2016 LHP Dante Torino who started for North Marion. Torino was able to win this battle by going 5 1/3 innings, striking out six, and allowing three runs. Offensively, center fielder Ryan Owens (2015 signed with Bethune-Cookman) led the way by going 2-4 with an RBI and was the only player on either team with multiple hits. North Marion was able to break a 2-2 tie in the third inning to go up 4-2.
After Trinity Catholic was able to get a run back in the fifth to come within one, Ryan Owens laced a single up the middle to drive in an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth to put North Marion up 5-3. Trinity Catholic could not respond in the seventh inning and North Marion was able to hold on for the victory and give Dante Torino the win.
