Mid-Florida/Panhandle Conference Scout Day: Player Analysis

The Mid-Florida/Panhandle Conference Scout Days were held Tuesday, September 24th and Wednesday, September 25th at St. John's River State College and North West Florida State College. The events were held immediately following the Mid-Florida and Panhandle conference JUCO scout days. The events featured 2020-2023 uncommitted prospects participating in a pro-style workout in front of the PBR Florida Scouting Staff. Today, we take a look at analysis of every player in attendance featuring our Top 5 and best of the rest.
Top 5
Brandon Adams RHP / SS / Clay high school, FL / 20226-foot-2, 170-pound athletic frame; RHP/SS. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 77 mph. Set up in wide stance with a small load. Uses a level swing plane. In the infield, his best throw was registered at 83 mph; had sure hands and rhythmic feet. Uses athletic movements laterally. He recorded a 60 time of 7.83 at the event. On the mound, he showed quick arm speed to the plate and a loose arm action. Showed easy effort in his delivery. His fastball came in at 83-84 mph with a max of 85 mph. He threw his curveball with consistency at 73-74 mph. His changeup was thrown at 75-76 mph.

Nathan Weber SS / RHP / Milton , FL / 20205-foot-11, 165-pound athletic frame; SS/RHP. At the plate, the right-handed hitter's 92 mph exit velocity showed his ability to drive the ball with power. Uses a leg kick before his swing. Exhibits a level swing plane, and his bat speed is quick. Path exhibited a line drive approach. In the infield, showed his ability to throw 84 mph across the diamond; showed quick feet and a quick exchange. Laterally, his movements were athletic. He recorded a 60 time of 7.16 at the event. On the mound, he is a feel type pitcher who showed quick arm speed. His fastball was 84-85 mph; with a max of 85 mph; shows a cutting movement with plus action. He threw his curveball with consistency at 68-70 mph. He threw his changeup (76-78 mph) for a strike when he stayed on top. He showed consistency with his off-speed slider at 73 mph.

Max Williams OF / LHP / Ridgeview , FL / 20226-foot, 170-pound lean frame; OF/LHP. At the plate, the left-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 82 mph. Uses a leg kick to start his swing. In the outfield, his throws to the bases were maxed out at 85 mph;showed twitchy hands. In the infield, displayed a velocity of 83 mph across the field. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.48. On the mound, his fastball came in at 80-81 mph with a max of 81 mph. His curveball (64-66 mph) worked best when he spotted up low in the zone. He successfully located his changeup for a strike at 68-69 mph.

Had a smooth load and a leg kick Path creates a drive the ball approach. On the mound, his fastball came in at 81-82 mph; and topped out at 83 mph; shows heavy action on his fastball. His curveball was thrown at 65-67.

Nash Adkins LHP / LHP / West Orange, FL / 20206-foot-1, 190-pound; LHP. On the mound, he used a long arm action. His fastball was 75-76 mph; and topped out at 76 mph; showed very consistent accuracy. His 60 mph curveball had depth when he located it low in the zone; has consistent accuracy as well. He can keep hitters off balance when he located his changeup (64mph) low in the zone; showed very consistent accuracy.

Mason Barrett 1B / RHP / Clay High School, FL / 20216-foot-1, 200-pound physical frame; 1B/RHP. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 80 mph. Used a drive the ball approach in his path. In the infield, his position velocity was registered at 76 mph. During the event, he ran the 60-yard dash in 8.56. On the mound, his fastball sat 74-75 mph. His curveball was typically thrown at 65-66 mph. He threw his changeup 64mph.

Starts in tall stance with a smooth load, then uses a leg kick right before his swing. While in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 79 mph. During the event, he recorded a 60 time of 7.78. On the mound, he had a loose arm action with a ¾ arm angle. He is a drop-and-drive type pitcher. His fastball sat 78-79 mph. His changeup was thrown at 71-72 mph. His slider was 72-73 mph consistently.
