Miami Christian, Rosario Welcome Lemont (IL) to Town

With spring break in full effect here in Florida, we have tournament action going on all across the state. We started the week on Monday checking out one of the top 2021s in the country, Aljeandro Rosario, and he did not disappoint. While he would allow a run in the first, thanks in part to an error, he would mostly dominate a Lemont team coming from Chicagoland area, winning 9-4.
Rosario worked from a 3/4 slot and has appeared to both grow and fill out. He still has a very clean, low effort delivery. The ball jumps out of his hands and easily sits 91-93 mph, but has 94 and 95 mph anytime he needed to throughout his four innings while also touching 96 and 97 mph in the fourth. He would also feature a split that showed average to above average potential at 76-77 mph and a slurvy slider that at times has tight late action at 74-75 mph.

Rosario would go four innings, allowing one unearned run on two hits, while walking a pair and striking out seven hitter. Offensively, Miami Chrisitan was led by uncommitted 2019 catcher, Adrian Rodriguez. Not only did he do a nice job handling Rosario, he was 3-3 with an RBI and a walk. The stocky, strong catcher works with rhythm at the plate, used the lower half well and shows present gap-to-gap power.

Lemont did not go quietly though, and was led by senior shortstop Bobby Wisz. Wisz showed solid, athletic actions at short and an ability to range to both glove and hand sides to make plays. Offensively, the left-handed hitter has a short, compact swing with bat to ball skills. Was consistently on time and on the barrel on Rosario and co, resulting in a double and had groundout.
