Litsch's Lookback: Week 5
March 30, 2022
Litsch’s Lookback is a weekly segment that takes a look back at the standouts from that week around the state of Florida. I will be around the state of Florida covering high school an JUCO games each week and highlighting my biggest standouts in this segment.
This past week, I caught a few games in the Vero Beach and Palm Beach areas. Our Area Scout Rocco Iervasi got to check out some top prospects from Mitchell and George Jenkins and I gave my take on them as well. Take a look at my biggest Week 5 standouts.
Week 5
2022 Jayden Hylton, 1B, Palm Beach Gardens
Hylton the Stetson baseball commit put together some great at bats, showing the ability to drive the ball to all fields and present big time power. He has quick hands with electric bat speed and a good approach at the dish. Has a good projectable frame which makes him a solid prospect for the 2022 MLB Draft.
2022 Cameron Smith, SS, Palm Beach Central
Smith the Florida State commit showed very smooth actions in the infield, he has a great 1st step with soft hands and above average arm speed. Offensively he shows a solid approach with a good understanding of the strike zone, he has above average bat speed with good barrel control and is a solid prospect for the 2022 MLB Draft.
2022 Lahiem Bell, C/OF, Vero Beach
Bell the Jackson State commit really impressed showing a good approach at the dish and consistently gets the barrel to the ball. He put together a bunch of solid at bats and produced a lot of loud noise, while showing the ability to hit the ball to all fields. He stays short to the ball and has a very good idea at the plate.
