Kendall Williams Shines on Day 3 of IMG National Classic

Thursday featured day three of the IMG National Classic as three rounds of bracket play games took place. While I did sit on a handful of games a little longer than others again, I bounced around to check out a few guys I wanted to follow. The Vanderbilt recruit matched his fellow MLB Draft prospect, Brennan Malone’s performance from a day earlier. Williams would also throw a complete game shutout, allowing three hits, walking two and striking out seven in 96 pitches. Williams, like Malone, looks primed and ready for a big performance at NHSI. He held 91-94 mph for all seven innings and flashed an above average slider at 73-76 mph with hard, late down tilt. Also showed an occasional changeup. Stands tall throughout the delivery with a clean and easy takeback. Fastball released from high 3/4 and gets downhill in a hurry. Overall, a very high ceiling and is beginning to peak at the right time.
