IMG Blue Takes Down Trinity Catholic

BRADENTON-- IMG used dominant pitching led by 2016 LHP and Kentucky commit Dion Henderson and 2015 LHP and South Carolina signee Logan Allen, as well as timely hitting, to go on to a 5-1 win.

IMG's Henderson went four strong innings giving up one unearned run on one hit and had six strikeouts. Trinity Catholic's 2016 LHP and Ole Miss commit Thomas Spinelli had a strong outing himself with four innings pitched, one earned run, no hits, and eight strikeouts. After Allen struck out the side in the top of the fifth, IMG broke up the no-hitter in a big way by scoring three runs. 2016 MIF Wilfredo Alvarez led off the inning with a single and after a walk, Alvarez scored on a sac bunt and E1 by 2016 OF Gabe Lozada. With men on second and third, 2016 3B Collier Rutledge drove in a run with a sac fly to center. Then with the bases loaded, IMG scored another run on an error, followed by a Connor Shobe (2016 OF) single that brought in the final run of the inning. A 5-1 lead was more than enough for Allen as he did not let one Celtic hitter make contact and struck out the side in both the sixth and seventh to give IMG the win.
