Earlier this week, some of the top committed 2017s as well as some standout uncommitted 2017s were in attendance in Fort Myers. LHP Bryan Wilcox (West Broward HS, FL), OF Cameron Meehan (Timber Creek HS, FL), and OF/3B Jeremiah Davis (Orangewood Christian HS, FL) stood out on the uncommitted side while Notre Dame recruit SS Spencer Myers (Berkeley Prep, FL) and North Florida recruit C Joe Cosgrove (Lake Highland Prep, FL) impressed as well.

Elite Squad 17u South Prime

Bryan Wilcox, LHP, West Broward HS, FL (2017)
Uncommitted incoming senior currently ranked No. 172 in the Florida 2017 class. Stands at 6-foot-2, 170 pounds with a tall, lean, lanky, projectable build. Throws out of the high ¾ arm slot with a bit of a stab and grab action before his delivery. Gets some extension out in front on his finish. Fastball mostly sat 85-86 mph, touching 87 with some downhill action. Curveball sat 67-70 mph with a ¾ break that showed some depth. Threw it for strikes. Also displayed a deceptive, quick pick off move that kept runners tight to the bag.

Spencer Myers, SS, Berkeley Prep, FL (2017)

Notre Dame recruit. Currently ranked No. 86 in the Florida 2017 class, No. 316 overall. Stands at 6-foot, 170 pounds with a lean, athletic build with some quick twitch actions. Takes good at-bats out of the leadoff spot by fouling off tough pitches, working the count, and displaying good strike zone awareness. Quick bat with good hand eye that resulted in a couple hard hit singles up the middle from the left side. Bats switch. Aggressive runner on the base paths, quick to take advantage of a mistake in the field. Possesses some good baseball IQ. Displays natural actions and range in the field.

Scorpions 2017 Black

Joe Cosgrove, C, Lake Highland Prep, FL (2017)
North Florida recruit. 5-foot-9 165 pounds, has a strong lower half with flexibility. Above average catcher who was consistently in the 1.95-2.0 range. Aggressive behind the plate, attempting multiple back-picks, getting one runner at third base. At the plate, he has good rhythm and when he is on time has gap-to-gap power. Can get long at times, but the defensive skills make him an above average catcher for the class.

Cameron Meehan, OF, Timber Creek, FL (2017)
Uncommitted. 5-foot-10 160 pounds, is a smart and athletic outfielder who not only impressed at the plate, but made multiple heads up plays on the basepath and tracked the ball down well in the outfield. At the plate, he loads early, gets on time and has a short, level quick swing with some gap-to-gap power.

Scorpions 2017 Purple

Jeremiah Davis, OF/3B, Orangewood Christian HS, FL (2017)
Uncommitted. Davis is a strong 6-foot 190 pounds with a balanced set-up at the plate who stays on-time and balanced through the swing. He has quick hands and strong wrists which generates above average pull side power. Davis has a long arm action with a hitch from third base, but the bat speed and strength will make him interesting as a potential third baseman or outfielder.
