Following the release of the standouts from the Top Prospect event and the pitcher analysis, we now break down the catchers from the event.  Here are the top catchers from the event.

To start, we will highlight 2017 C Giovany Lorenzo (Canterbury School) a strong 5-foot-10 190-pound switch-hitter. During defensive work he showed a quick transfer and a strong arm topping out at 80 mph with sub-2.00 pop times. At the plate he uses his strong lower-half well from both sides. Right-handed, Lorenzo showed some pop but was long and a little stiff. From the left side, Lorenzo was much more fluid and quick through the zone with a direct path to the ball and gap-to-gap power. 

Ben Rozenblum (Calvary Christian Academy) is a class of 2019 5-foot-11 175-pound catcher with receiving and blocking skills well above average for his class. Rozenblum also demsontrated a quick transfer and strong arm with pop times in the 2.00 range. At the plate,  the right-hand hitter has quick hands through the zone creating some power and recorded an 86 mph exit velocity. He's likely to create more power as he develops physically and learns to fully utilize his lower-half. Rozenblum already has above average all around tools for his class and is a catcher to follow in Florida's class of 2019.

Class of 2017 catcher Steven Markowitz (Hagerty HS) is a 5-foot-11 180-pound backstop with solid defensive skills, receiving and blocking well in game action. He also showed feel for the pace of the game and handling each pitcher he caught. Markowitz had consistent 2.15 pop times both in the workout and in the game. The right-handed hitter got a little long and pulled off the ball at times, but when he worked the middle of the field he created a more direct path to the ball producing line drives to center field.

5-foot-8, 171-pound class of 2018 catcher Al Ortiz (Cypress Bay HS) is athletic and very active behind the plate showing overall feel for the game. Ortiz blocked and threw well with sub-2.05 pop times. At the plate the right-handed hitter sets his hands high and has an aggressive approach. He uses his lower half well and has quick hands through the zone. Ortiz will be interesting to follow going forward with his already present feel for the game behind the plate as well as a strong arm and quick hands, Ortiz should develop into an above average defensive catcher at the college level.

Additional scouting reports on the catchers that participated: 

Brandon Andal, C, Pembroke Pines Charter (2018)
5-foot-10 170-pound frame. Showed some athleticism behind the plate, blocked well, 2.13 pop time to second base. At the plate, Andal showed balance, small leg kick trigger, some length in the swing, generates gap-to-gap power with more to come as he continues to fill out and learn to consistently stay short to the ball.

Ty Angevine, C, Creekside HS (2018)
6-foot 155-pound frame. Low flexible setup behind the plate, quality target presentation, hands work well, did not get beat by tough pitches. Throwing to second showed a quick transfer, average arm and best pop time mark of 2.06. At the plate Angevine showed a good path through the zone, swing gets long at times. Lack of present strength showed as he dropped his top hand. Angevine is very solid defensively and will be very interesting going forward to see how the swing progresses as he continues to get stronger.

Dylan Arcadipane, C, Dwyer HS (2017)
5-foot-10 180-pound frame. Showed the ability to catch and throw, best pop time 2.12, all of his throws waist high on the first base side of the bag. Right-hand hitter, loose hands, high hand, slightly open stance, easy swing. Can sometimes get out in front, but showed the ability to use all of the field during batting practice with some line drives into the gaps.

Evan Dolan, C, Northside Christian HS (2017)
Physical 6-foot-1 185-pound frame with strength. Right-hand hitter, balanced swing, good use of the lower half, level line drive swing, worked directly to the ball  Behind the plate, Dolan’s best pop time was a 2.08 and with a top throwing velocity of 74 mph.

Jack Keiser, C, The Benjamin School (2019)
6-foot-1 175-pound frame. Solid defensively for his class. Received and blocked well, will continue to improve as he becomes more flexible allowing him to stay lower, best pop time was 2.16. Right-hand hitter, early load, leg kick. When on time and working the middle of the field showed potential for some power.

Austin Koehler, RHP/C, South Plantation HS (2018)
5-foot-11 165-pound frame. On the mound worked 73-75 mph touching 77 mph with his fastball and 70 mph with the breaking ball. Behind the plate Koehler’s best pop time was 2.21, registered a 73 mph throwing velocity. Right-hand hitter, simple set-up and even though he pulled off the ball at times, he maintained a good path through the zone.
