Day Four Scout Blog
Garrett Albright SS / RHP / Camden County, GA / 2024Lanky and athletic 6-foot, 140 pound right hander. Works quick and comes from a ¾ arm slot. Long, loose arm with the fastball sitting 78-82. Long legs help him get good extension on the fastball making it get on batters quickly. |
Johnathan Bruno SS / C / Berkeley Prep, FL / 2021Rankings StateRank: 160 / POS: 32
Stocky, thick frame and carries the weight well. Athletic at the plate with a rhythmic load and gets on time consistently. Stays in the core and keeps the center of gravity well allowing the hands and legs to fire while keeping the head still. Does damage out front well, maximizing the torque and tension in the bat. |
James Bryan RHP / 1B / Madison County, FL / 2023Stocky right hander with a strong lower half. Works up tempo from a high ¾ arm slot and whippy arm action. Fastball sits 78-81. True ground ball pitcher as he pounds the zone and pitches to contact. Generates a ton of weak contact.
|
Alex Canney RHP / 1B / Durant, FL / 2021Rankings StateRank: 235 / POS: 45
Stocky XL frame. He shows present arm strength with some heaviness on a fastball that sat mostly 84-86 touching 88 mph. Struggled some with command early, but settled in working down in the zone. Curveball is more of a slider and showed more potential when thrown harder. A strong frame with arm strength and some upside.
|
Elijah Dukes 1B / OF / King, FL / 2022Large, strong bodied frame. 4.4 runner to 1st. Power to all fields. Strong hands, toe tap/barrel tilt load creating natural lift. Plus bat speed. 3R HR traveling 403ft to RCF. 101 mph exit velo. Also 3B yesterday to opposite field. |
Gabe Garrett SS / 2B / Bloomingdale, FL / 2021Rankings StateRank: 228 / POS: 40
Garrett has really grown and has a lanky and projectable frame. There is some athleticism and upside. Offensively, he has loose hands and creates some leverage with a compact swing. There's strength that will need to be added, but overall showed some offensive tools with upside.
|
Sean Hermann RHP / OF / Durant, FL / 2021The USF recruit continued to impress working 87-89 topping at 90 mph multiple times from a tough ¾ slot. Attacks hitters to both sides of the plate. Works with tempo and intent. Athletic with upside.
|
Lucas Phelps SS / 3B / Newsome, FL / 20226-foot athletic, slender, projectable frame. Smooth actions at SS, quick release, arm strength present. Short, compact swing getting extension on contact driving a line drive to LCF wall coming off the bat at 95 mph. |
KJ Scobey SS / 2B / McKeel Academy of Technology, FL / 2024Young, athletic two-way player has shown promise on both sides of the ball. On the mound, works a clean delivery with a loose, whippy arm. Uses his lower half well to get extension and drive downhill. Fastball was sitting 78-80 and topped 81 with some sink. Definitely a 2024 to follow. |
Conley Strayer OF / Plant, FL / 2022Strayer is long and lean with a projectable frame. Average strength and should come into some power as he matures. Simple load at the plate with relaxed arms and hands. Gets in the legs at the trigger point and stays level through the swing. Long arms create optimal extension and back spins balls when he finishes the swing.
|
Andrew Williamson OF / 1B / Northside Christian, FL / 2023The hit tool is present on the young 2023 bat. Athletic left handed hitter. Gets the hands extended as he creates to drive the ball gap to gap. Advanced barrel awareness. Moves well defensively and covers ground with ease. Really like the upside as an all around player. |
Anderson Zambrano SS / 3B / Northside ChRistian, FL / 2023Athletic middle infielder was all over the field on Monday. Moves well defensively and showed an above average arm. Offensively, has a calm quiet approach. Hands stay inside and attack the baseball with a line drive swing.
