Florida Scout Notes: Pablo Ruiz, Ryan Bruno, Wellington Underclassmen and Jorel Ortega

As we come to the end of the regular season, we continue our coverage of some of the top teams and players in the state. This week we took a look at 2019 MLB Draft riser Pablo Ortiz, a Draft follow in Jorel Ortega, a match-up of American Heritage-Delray and Stoneman Douglas as well as some underclassmen who stood out from Wellington. Take a look at some of the scout notes from some standouts.

Pablo Ruiz SS / Forrest HIll, FL / 2019UCF recruit the stocky middle infielder and stands out as he plays with energy. He has some quick twitch with a strong lower half. Defensively, he played short and has some stiffness, the hands work, but probably fits more as an offensive second baseman at the next level. Offensively, his bat is his best tool. Quick hands, compact swing with some present power. Will be more of a gap-to-gap hitter with occasional power. Should be a well above average offensive second baseman at the next level. Was 2-3 with a triple and a bunt single in which he had a head first slide and registering a 3.97 home to first time.
