On day one of the Florida League High School Invitation, eighteen teams from all over the nation came to Sanford, Fl in the week long tournament. The FHSI has seen players come through in recent history to the like of Cole Ragans, Triston McKenzie, Brendan Rodgers, Nick Gordon and more. This week we will cover the event and each day break down some of the player who stood out. Here are the players who stood out from day one:
Edgar Alvarez, INF, Boone HS (2019)
A big, strong left handed infielder. Showed some power with a double off the right field wall. A feel for the barrel, there's some length and steepness in the swing, but has power projection. Struggled a bit at short, but would be interesting at third and the bat should project.
