Lakeland, FL—The Florida Diamond Club takes place each year in mid-October and consists mostly of the top prospects for the current draft class in the state of Florida and Puerto Rico.
Diamond Club is a three-day event that consists of four teams. Each team goes through a pro-style workout, batting practice, and two 10-inning games over the course of the three days at Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium.
Over the next few days we will go team by team with reports on every player in attendance this year. Today, we will break down Team East’s (Blue Jays) top five players, followed by the best of the rest.
Nander De Sedas SS / 2B / Montverde Academy, FL / 2018Florida State recruit. Compact swing from both sides of the plate. Created consistent, hard contact with multiple line drives into the gaps. Also put multiple balls over the fence from both sides of the plate during batting practice. Went 4-for-4 during the first game which included three singles and a triple deep to centerfield. He is an average runner, but has above average instincts and feel for the position. Quality first step, lateral agility and takes efficient angles to the point to be an average to above average defender and stick at shortstop . The bat really plays up and has a professional approach.
