December 1, 2022
Winter 2022 is about to be here. The fall season is over, travel teams are starting their summer tryouts for next year, and we all get ready for the holidays. Another modest rankings update was needed, this time for the 2024 class. This update allowed us to clean up the rankings and put the class into better focus as we get ready for the Preseason.

Remaining at the top of the 2024 class is RHP Chase Mobley (Plant City). A lean, 6-foot-5, 190 pounds, Mobley continues to showcase one of the most electric arms in the country. Clean, easy arm action with the fastball up to 95 now. The FSU commit possesses a wipeout slider to pair making him a dangerous arm to face.
No. 2 in the state is another 6-foot-5 arm in RHP Schuyler Sandford (Bartram Trail). The Gators commit comes with a ton of projection to dream on. Quick arm with heavy life on the fastball in the mid 90s. Tight spinning slider and feel for the changeup. Sandford has a lot to like and continues to trend up.

Manuelle Marin (Elite Squad Academy) continues to be the top shortstop prospect in this class and comes in at No. 3 in the state. Rangy defender with mature, athletic actions. Gap to gap hitter with juice off the bat.
At No. 4 is the top outfielder in the state in Fabio Peralta (Miami Christian). A true centerfielder with a lot of projection in a long, lean frame. Above average hit tool from the left side. Loose hands create leverage in the box. Feel for the barrel and an above average runner.
Rounding out the top 5 is LHP/OF Talan Bell (Hagerty). Bell is a true-two way with upside on both sides of the field. Athletic frame. Up to 91 on the mound with feel for the secondary. Offensively, has shown the ability to swing it with juice to all fields.

Other Notables
Hunter Carns (First Coast) is one of the most athletic catchers I’ve seen. 6.5 runner, quick and athletic behind the plate. Offensively, can flat out hit. Feel for the barrel using the whole field. Gap to gap power potential as well. The top catcher in the class is one to follow.

Carns just rakes and here he is catching one just off the end still driving the baseball with authority. Always in sync and loads up with bad intentions@PBRFlorida @prepbaseball @C_Hatcher_PBR #PBRFLStateGames pic.twitter.com/LBYIErTOF1
OF Tyler Head (Windermere) had a huge 2022 and stamped his name as a Draft Follow for 2024. The NC State commit screams projection at 6-foot-3, 183 pounds. A lefty bat with maturity in the box and a real ability to hit. Slows the game down in all aspects. Smooth lefty swing with juice to all fields. A name trending up as he heads into his junior year.

A/AVG soon to be + run w/ tons of feel to hit. Good name 2 know for 2024 draft. Very relaxed at the plate & focused all fields approach. Rangy defender with CF characteristics & arm to match. Make game look easy.@ShooterHunt @PBRFlorida pic.twitter.com/Qx5BNotSCH
Drew Bellis (IMG Academy) is a highly touted southpaw who recently moved to IMG from Ohio. 6-foot-1, 185 pounds. Up to 91 from the left side. Deceptive delivery with above average secondary stuff. Another talented lefty that IMG gets their hands on.
‘24 LHP Drew Graham (@CincyFlames2024) will be a top of the line arm once it’s all said and done.

Effectively wild. Found success with swing and miss secondary stuff when FB wasn’t on, highlighted by devastating a CH at 79-81. Feel for both CB and SL.@PBROhioScout | #NPI2022 pic.twitter.com/5vBHa7mwPq
OF/LHP Michael Torres (Doral Academy) has recently reclassified from 2025. The Miami commit is a true two-way up to 90 from the left side. The bat plays with a smooth swing and feel for the barrel. Strong follow as he now moves to the 2024 class.
