FL Power25 Update: Week 3

The 2023 high school baseball season has completed its third week of games. Each week we will update our Power25 HS Rankings with Risers, Fallers, and Newcomers to the rankings each week. We look forward to covering high school games this spring and hearing your feedback on who you think should be ranked where. Take a look at our Week 3 update.

Week 3

Risers

#6 Archbishop McCarthy

McCarthy has been off to a tremendous start to their 2023 season with a 9-0 record. They have big wins over Doral Academy and Naples as well as a few top teams in Georgia, Mississippi, and Alabama. They’ve proven they can compete with top teams and will continue to face tough competition down the road.

#16 Canterbury

Canterbury continues their strong start now sitting at 6-0. A big win over city rival Bishop Verot last week. The Cougars have only allowed 8 runs on the season while scoring 55 themselves.

Fallers

NR Miami Christian

Miami Christian has started the 2023 3-4. The Victors lost 3 games in a row before a 15-11 win over John Carroll. Miami Christian currently has a -6 run differential to start their season.

NR Bartram Trail

Bartram Trail started their 2023 season strong but 4 losses in their last 5 games have caused a slide. Losses to Nease, Bishop Kenny, Forest, and Colquitt County drop Bartram outside the Power25.

Newcomers

#22 South Walton

South Walton is out to an 8-0 start with dominant wins over their opponents. They are currently outscoring opponents by a whopping 89-2 runs. The Seahawks have been strong on both sides of the field to start the season.

#23 Benjamin School

Benjamin School has a high powered offense filled with Power 5 commits. They are off to a 6-1 start to the season with their most recent win over #9 North Broward Prep. Leading the way on the mound is Virginia recruit Freddy Beruvides.

#24 Providence School

Providence has shown they’re one of the top teams in Jacksonville this year. 8-2 to start the season including several impressive wins over big schools like Parkview (GA). With a run differential of +30, Providence is excelling on both sides of the field and look to continue to roll this spring.
