FL 2024 Rankings Release
November 19, 2020
The 2020 Fall baseball season came to an end with our inaugural Rising Stars State Games last weekend. The event featured some of the top 2024 prospects throughout the state and was the perfect lead up to this week’s 2024 rankings release. After a full summer and fall of watching these young 2024’s develop, we have compiled a list of 147 prospects to make up our first ever Florida Class of 2024 rankings.
At the top of our first Florida Class of 2024 rankings is LHP/OF Talan Bell (Hagerty). Bell is a Florida State recruit who we first saw at about this time last year and he impressed immediately. A true two-way talent with athletic actions on both sides. Twitchy actions in the box offensively with gap-to-gap potential. On the mound, he’s already up to 86 mph from the left side. Easy arm action with more to come as he fills out. There is an extremely high ceiling on Bell.
Coming in at No. 2 is OF Christian Hamilton (St. Thomas Aquinas). Hamilton is an uber athletic outfielder committed to Miami. Has a tall, projectable frame with plenty of room to fill out. Twitchy athleticism both in the outfield and at the plate. Was playing on an 18U X-Team team this Fall and stood out among the likes of Yoel Tejeda. A lot of upside for Hamilton as the athleticism really plays. Has even been in the low to mid 80’s on the mound as well.
At No. 3 is Bell’s travel ball teammate, 3B/RHP Zachary Hopper (Lake Nona). A Florida recruit, Hopper is another one of those players that we first saw about a year ago and has been trending upward since. Real easy, low effort actions in the box and seems to always find a barrel. Gap to gap hitter. Defends well and should be able to stick at third as he continues to fill out and start hitting for power. Hopper has two-way potential as well as he has been up to 83 mph with a clean, effortless delivery.
Coming in at No. 4 is uncommitted RHP/OF Aden Knowles (Jesuit). Knowles has a tall, athletic 6-foot-2, 165 pound frame with more room to add strength. Knowles really stood out on the mound at the Rising Stars State Games. He sat 81-84 T85 with the fastball with feel for the breaking ball. Low spin rates on the fastball create sinking action making it tough for hitters to square up. Knowles has an easy arm action which should help add to his velo as he fills out. There is two-way potential there, but Knowles’s biggest upside is on the mound.

Tall, high waisted athletic frame. Low effort arm action. Fastball sitting 82-84 T85. Showing feel and confidence for the breaking ball. #PBRFLStateGames @PBRFlorida @ShooterHunt pic.twitter.com/vyajwrKtBa
Rounding out the top 5 is 3B Ethan Puig (Gulliver Prep). Puig is a Miami commit with an advanced hit tool for his class. Present strength in his frame with present bat speed. Simple gap-to-gap approach at the plate with power potential to come. Lots of upside offensively for Puig.

Showing why he is one of the top players in the class. The bat is the carrying tool. Generates easy bat speed, uses his strength efficiently. @PBRFlorida @EliteSquad pic.twitter.com/2j9dVWfoDL
