#11 Hagerty Huskies vs. #24 Windermere Wolverines

Great matchup Saturday with two of the top PBR 25 going against each other, 2019 FSU commit Bryce Hubbart throwing against MLB prospect and UF 2019 commit Riley Greene. Both guys had good days on the field, but Hubbart had the edge for the day. Hubbart was pounding the strike zone consistently all day with 23 first pitch strikes, which led to his 7 strikeouts for the game. He scattered three walks and seven hits throughout the game as well leaving seven guys left on the bases. Hagerty’s offense was resilient all day, but Hubbart was able to hold them to 2 runs. Windermere’s offense had five hits and scored early in the game and was led by 2019 Broward State College commit Carson Crossley with two hits and a big homerun in the third inning to give them the three runs needed to win the game by 3-2 final score.

Hagerty was helped with a great effort by 2019 FIU commit Vaughn Grissom pitching 3.2 innings and not allowing a run or any hits, striking out five and walking two guys. Grissom also had two hits at the plate with a stolen base and also scoring a run. Trey Bradley had two hits in three at bats and 2019 UF commit Riley Greene also added one hit in two at bats and two walks as well. Both teams had guys on base all day and both pitchers stepped up to the challenge and made it a good pitcher dual in the end by only allowing a total of five runs all day, but Windermere will moving on the play George Jenkins on Wednesday May 22nd at 7:00pm in Lakeland.
