FACA All-Star Game Rosters: South

The South team’s strength is with position players lead by SS Jonathon India from American Heritage Del-Ray. The Florida signee is an offensive infielder with power who is a gamer that plays above his tools.

Rutgers football recruit Jawuan Harris is a toolsy OF with plus plus speed. The two-sport athlete may be one of the fastest players in Sebring.

Vanderbilt signee, Julian Infante (Westminster Christian) is a third baseman with big power who had a great year and who’s team just won a state championship. Also a big raw power bat is California commit, Lorenzo Hampton (Monsignor Pace) who’s dad was a running back for the Dolphins.

Duke signee Zack Kone from Pine Crest is a big athletic power bat playing SS right now and has been under the radar a bit going into the spring but has opened some eyes and could be a good draft in June.

While pitching may not be the Souths’ strength due to Triston McKenzie and Austin Smith still pitching in the state tournament and not being in attendance, they still have plenty of arms to make some noise.

The staff is lead by Florida commit LHP Thomas Szapucki (Dwyer HS) who has a big arm from the left side with a plus breaking ball at times to go along with a fastball that has touched 95 mph this spring. RHP Gentry Fortuno from Flanagan HS put up big numbers this spring. The Central Florida State College signee is a projectable guy with very good pitchability. He's touched 90mph this spring but has mostly been 87-88 mph and is a strike throwing machine. He may here his name in this years draft.
