Class of 2015 Making Some Noise

Pennsylvania's Class of 2015 is top heavy with Division I talent as can be evidenced by eight of the top 15 ranked prospects already making commitments to ACC and SEC schools. Following we take a brief look at the remaining seven that are likely to soon announce their plans for college.

SS/RHP Kyle Datres, Loyalsock Township HS

Datres is a three sport athlete that sits in the upper 80's from the mound. He has hovered at or near No. 1 in the rankings for the past year and was the winning pitcher in the Class AA state finals in June.

Willie BurgerC Willie Burger, Lancaster Catholic HS

Burger is a 6-foot-1, 210-pound catcher with good pop and a strong arm. He has shown pop times that hover at or below 2.00. Burger sits in the upper 80's off the mound.

RHP Eli Nabholz, Pottsville HS

Nabholz sat at No. 1 in the initial PA Class of 2015 rankings. The 6-foot-6, 215 pound righty sits 85-87 with command and room for added velocity.

LHP Connor Higgins, Parkland HS

Higgins is a 6-foot-3, 200-pound lefty that has garnered significant interest following his solid performance at the Midwest Future Games in August. He sits 84-87 with late life to his fastball.

LHP Dylan Cyphert, Cranberry HS

Cyphert consistently sits 84-86 and has been up to 87 mph. The 6-foot, 170-pound lefty had a solid summer and has received considerable Division I interest.

Zach WielgusLHP Zach Wielgus, Penn Charter HS

Another member of the Team PA pitching staff at the Midwest Future Games that impressed. Wielgus is a 6-foot-3, 200-pound lefty that sits 83-86 and has late arm side run to his fastball.

RHP/3B Ben Dum, West Perry HS

Dum climbed the rankings with a 10-1 high school season followed by solid performances at the Big 26 Classic and the Midwest Future Games. The 6-foot, 175-pound righty sits 83-85 from a 3/4 arm slot with command of a slider, curveball, changeup mix that makes him difficult to square up.
