American Heritage Bats Erupt in 14-3 Win
March 10, 2018
No 3 American Heritage and Archbishop McCarthy are only a few mile a part on the same road and has been a big rivalry game for year. A packed house would see Stetson recruit Daniel Paret start for Archbishop McCarthy. The left-hander Paret looked to be a tough matchup early for a left handed hitter dominate Heritage lineup.Despite allowing a home run in the second to Gio Ferraro, he struck out four. Unfortunately for McCarthy, he would be replaced and move o center field after two strong innings. McCarthy would be able to hold Heritage scoreless in the third, but they would erupt for nine runs on six hits in the fourth.
A double from Jordan Carrion would get things going in the big fourth inning, and would be driven on a double from Enrique Bradfield. Julio Cortez and Matt Ruiz would also drive runners in with a pair of double, while Gavin Casas would drive in one on a single.
Meanwhile, Ryan Cabarcas would be solid for American Heritage through three plus innings. The Florida recruit would allow three on four hits while striking out five. Bailey Mantilla would replace Cabarcas and allow the two runners he inherited to score on a two-run double from Daniel Paret. That would be all McCarthy could manage against Mantilla, who would only allow two more hits the remainder of the game.
The Heritage offense would put the nail in the coffin in the sixth with five more runs. Thanks to an RBI single from Cory Acton and a bases clearing, three run double from Triston Casas, American Heritage would go on to win 14-3.
