The 2A class will wrap up regional play Friday night and will send four teams to the state tournament. Highlighting these four games is the matchup between Brito and Boca Raton Christian. Both schools have almost identical records—Brito at 15-11 and Boca Raton Christian at 15-12-1—and it will truly be anyone’s game. The game will be hosted by Brito at Florida Memorial University at 3:30 on Friday. Brito should also have an advantage in that their regular season schedule was more difficult than Boca Raton Christian’s.

Prediction: Brito

Seven Rivers Christian vs Aucilla Christian

Again, the records are similar in this game—Seven Rivers at 12-11 and Aucilla at 11-12-2—and Seven Rivers Christian will be hosting at 7:00 on Friday which should give them a slight edge, however, they are very young--having multiple middle school players on their team. Aucilla will be making a long drive from the panhandle but they have an older, more experienced lineup and a few of two-way players that can help them on the mound if needed.

Prediction: Aucilla Christian

Orlando Christian Prep vs Bayshore Christian

Orlando Christian Prep will be hosting this contest Friday at 4:00. Bayshore Christian has a very good record at 13-4 while OCP has a record of 12-11-1, but even though the records appear lopsided, OCP has played seven more games than Bayshore Christian with a harder schedule. If they can get on base, however, Bayshore Christian can wreak havoc as they have an amazing 110 stolen bases as a team this season. This appears to be a very good matchup and should be a close game.

Prediction: Orlando Christian Prep

Master’s Academy of Vero Beach vs Sarasota Christian

Master’s Academy will be the home team in this contest on Friday at 7:00. Sarasota Christian has the better record at 18-6 while Master’s Academy has a record of 14-9 and each teams’ strength of schedule seems similar. Sarasota Christian does have a fairly long drive across the state but it shouldn’t affect their play too much.
