Jacob Gomberg - The Florida recruit will be a big part of the Douglas rotation in 2023 and will be asked to take over some big innings left by the graduating Chris Arroyo.

 

OUTLOOK

Stoneman Douglas has become a powerhouse not only in Florida but in the whole country. Last year, they capped off a 30-2 season with their second consecutive State Title. Mid-way through the season they showed their prowess on the national level winning the 2022 NHSI. Despite losing some key pieces from 2022, Douglas is back with another loaded roster featuring 11 Division 1 commits. Coach Fitz believes pitching will be their strong suit this season. They will be a different offensive team than 2022, more contact with less strikeouts but not as much power. Douglas looks like they have what it takes to make it three years in a row to the State Championship.
