2021 Junior State Games: South Region Analysis

The 2021 Junior State Games took place Saturday, October 16th and Sunday, October 17th at Jackie Robinson Ballpark in Daytona, FL. The event featured players from the 2023 class representing their region of North, South, East, or West Florida participating in a pro-style workout followed by 3 total games per region in front of the PBR Florida Scouting Staff.
The weekend was full of talent from all 4 regions, but the East finished at the top going 3-0 throughout the event. To view all the stats from the event, check out our Stats Story. Today, we will continue with our Player Analysis breaking down each player's tools and projection through complete scouting reports. We will continue with the South Region. Take a look.
South Region Analysis
Kristoffer Blanks 1B / LHP / Dwyer, FL / 20235-foot-11, 180-pound mature athletic frame. Solid in the box, Blanks recorded an exit velocity of 98 mph. (65.66 mph bat speed average). (21.76 mph hand speed average). Starts in a tall stance with a quick arm bar load, then uses a leg kick. Has electric bat speed, upward loose swing plane and good extension on his finish. He created a lot of loud contact and found multiple barrels. Gap to gap line drive approach. Solid in the infield, displayed a velocity of 82 mph; had soft consistent hands, a clean exchange, and smooth footwork. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Consistent accuracy to the bases, used a high ¾ slot with a short arm action. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.25. Solid athletic on the mound, used a high ¾ arm angle with a loose arm action while showing quick arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who shows easy effort. Showed athletic balance point with even shoulders. Lands square with balanced finish.
