2021 Future Games: Team Ohio - Top Performers
Team Ohio went down to Georgia and showed out amongst some of the top uncommitted prospects in the nation. The 25 prospects who participated showed why they earned the invite to the prestigious event. Below we highlight some of the individuals who stood out.
"Our guys played very well and competed at a high level. I thought our arms really showed well, with several of them turning in PRs for velocity while also getting outs against the top players in the country. Positionally, I thought our guys showed why they deserved to be there. Our athletes ran all over the place on the bases/played defense at a high level and our hit tool guys proved they can drive the ball with authority/find barrels in game. My phone hasn’t stopped ringing from college coaches yet." - Jordan Chiero, PBR Ohio Director of Scouting.
Overall MVP
Drew Graham LHP / 1B / Avon Lake, OH / 2024This is tough, as several guys stood out but I’d have to go with ‘24 LHP Drew Graham. If anybody was unsure that he’s one of the most followed arms in the country, those thoughts were put to bed as a couple hundred scouts sat through a two hour rain delay to watch Graham throw ... and he didn’t disappoint.

Best Pitching Performance
Drew Graham LHP / 1B / Avon Lake, OH / 2024‘24 LHP Drew Graham earned the overall MVP from a lights out performance on the bump. Graham tossed two innings of no hit baseball, striking out four and running the fastball up to 91mph. The Avon Lake also showed two wipeout breaking balls and a more than playable changeup. Electric outing from the state’s top ranked 2024.

Best In Game Hitting Performance
Grant Wilson SS / RHP / St. Edward, OH / 2024We’re going to go with 2024 Grant Wilson here. The utility guy out of St. Edward put on a show in BP. The natural tools jump off the page right away with an elite ability to rotate combined with advanced strength and bat speed help him generate upper 90s jump off the barrel. He also proved right away the swing translates to game. The highlight for Wilson and Team Ohio in general offensively was when he deposited one of the farthest balls hit at the Future Games, going 99mph off the bat for a no doubt bomb to left field against PA. He also tripled against Michigan for another noteworthy result in a barrel filled weekend.

Best Workout Day Hitter
Jake Hanley 1B / RHP / Mason, OH / 2024There’s a few guys that stand out here but we’re going to give the edge to 2024 OF/1B Jake Hanley. Another go who I’m sure has been on the phone constantly following his Future Games performance. Most scouts viewed the 6-foot-5, left-handed hitter coming in as a “must see” guy and solidified that rather quickly. Obviously looks the part just stepping in the box and then took a BP where you just sit back and watch. The Mason HS standout put together solid ABs all weekend in game as well with the standout performance happening in Game 1, going 2-for-2 with two doubles, one being off a 90mph fastball he sent to the wall.

Best In Game Defender
Ryder Kirtley SS / 2B / Troy, OH / 2024Rankings StateRank: 15 / POS: 4
The guy that stands out here is ‘24 SS Ryder Kirtley (Troy HS). The skill set up the middle of the infield is just advanced across the board. The raw athleticism is fun to watch and he can move laterally with the best of them and come in and get the ball with ease. Made play after play for Team Ohio, showing all the signs right now of a guy who can stay at the shortstop position moving forward.

Best Workout Day Defender
Andrew Edrington SS / RHP / Princeton, OH / 2023Rankings StateRank: 20 / POS: 5
A two-way talent who showed off the arm in a variety of ways is SS/RHP Andrew Edrington (Princeton HS). The arm talent is real, whether it was across the diamond where he lit up the radar gun to the tune of 93 mph or on the bump where he sat 89-92 mph. Also has very mechanically sound feet and advanced ball skills up the middle of the infield.
