2021 Future Games Spotlight: Hunter Baynes
August 4, 2021
The 2021 PBR Future Games has come and gone. The event featured the top uncommitted 2023 and 2024 players around the country representing their home state in front of over 350+ college coaches. Team Florida was a fun and talented squad who showcased their abilities all week. They would go 2-0-1 with wins over Carolina and Mid-Atlantic and a tie vs Georgia.
Post event, we will be spotlighting each member of Team Florida. Continuing with 2023 RHP Hunter Baynes. Baynes is a 6-foot-2, 195 pound right-hander from IMG Academy who plays summer ball for 5 Star National. Baynes is known for an electric fastball with high spin. Baynes closed out the last two innings of Saturdays 1-1 tie vs Georgia. He went two scoreless allowing just one hit, getting several batters to pop out. Baynes sat 89-91 mostly but jumped it up to 93 mph. Heavy spin fastball up to 2563 rpm with HOP. Mixed an 11/5 curveball and showed feel for the changeup. A lot to like in this uncommitted arm.
