2021 FL ProCase: Team Grey Analysis

The 2021 PBR Florida ProCase took place Wednesday, June 2nd at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL. The event featured some of the top 2021-2022 prospects in the state participating in a pro-style workout followed by gameplay in front of the PBR Florida Scouting Staff. The event was broken down into two sessions with Team Black and Team Blue in session 1. Team Red and Team Grey were apart of session 2.

To view all the stats from the event, check out our Stats Story. Today we will continue with our Player Analysis breaking down each player's tools and projectability through scouting reports. We started with the Team Red Analysis. We continue with Team Grey.

Team Grey Analysis

 

Ray Bermudez OF / OF / American Heritage Plantation, FL / 2022

Miami Commit, 6-foot-2, 170-pound lean lanky frame. Athletic during batting practice, Bermudez's best exit velocity was 88 mph. Started in a balanced stance with a controlled tight load, then used a short stride. Had quick bat speed, short swing plane and level finish. He found multiple barrels with some loud contact. Up the middle approach. Above average from the outfield, he displayed a position velocity of 81 mph; showed consistent feet, a clean exchange, and soft hands. Fielded the ball to the side with athletic movement laterally. Using a loose arm action, showed consistent accuracy to the base from an-over-the-top slot. Recorded a time of 7.11 in the 60-yard dash


Ashton Crowther LHP / JW Mitchell, FL / 2022

Miami Commit, 6-foot-3, 190-pound athletic frame. Above average on the mound, showed consistent arm speed with a ¾ arm angle and a long arm action. Tall-and-fall type pitcher who shows some effort. In his delivery his balance point is tall with in line shoulders. Lands square with a clean finish. Sat with his fastball at 85-87 mph with a max of 88 mph; shows running action and arm side control. Has fading action and in the zone control on his changeup (74-75). Has a tight slider (74-76) that shows swing and miss action and low in the zone command. 


Adrian Dominguez 3B / 1B / Monsignor Pace, FL / 2022

Miami Commit, 6-foot-3, 190-pound athletic frame. Above average at the plate, the left-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 90 mph. Started in a tall open stance with a tight load, then used a big leg kick. Bat speed is quick, uses a level loose swing plane and level finish. Through the round he found multiple barrels with some loud contact. Up the middle approach. Above average while in the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 81 mph; had athletic rhythmic footwork, a clean exchange, and soft consistent hands. Movements laterally were athletic and he fields the ball out front. Used a short arm action with a ¾ slot while showing consistent accuracy to the bag. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 7.48. 


Elijah Guilliams OF / LHP / Valdosta, GA / 2021

St. Johns River State College Commit, 6-foot-2, 180-pound lean athletic frame. Above average in the box, the left-handed hitter's best exit velocity was 96 mph. Begins in a tall balanced stance with a quick controlled load, then uses a short stride. Had a long rotational swing plane, above average bat speed and a front foot finish. Found multiple barrels with some loud contact. Pull side approach. Showed his live arm in the infield with position velocities up to 88 mph; shows consistent hands, a quick exchange, and athletic feet. Athletic in the outfield, he used momentum and arm strength to record throws up to 91 mph;has a clean natural exchange, soft hands, and athletic feet. Fielded the ball to the side with athletic movement laterally. Showed a long arm action and a high ¾ slot with consistent accuracy to the bag. During the event, recorded a 60 time of 7.46. Above average on the mound, used a long arm action with a high ¾ arm angle while showing quick arm speed. Up-tempo type pitcher and uses decent effort. Displays in line shoulders and an athletic balance point. Lands square with an athletic finish. Threw his fastball 86-88 mph; showed arm side command and running action. Had control low in the zone and some action on his 1/7 curveball (74-77). His changeup (74-76) has command low in the zone and fading action.


Irvin Murr III SS / OF / Winter Springs , FL / 2021

Ranger JC Commit, 6-foot-4, 220-pound athletic physical frame. Above average at the plate, the right-handed hitter was ranked 1st with an exit velocity of 102 mph. Started in a balanced athletic stance with a tight quick load, then used a quick stride. Bat speed is explosive, shows a level swing plane and a back foot finish. He barreled up lots of balls with tons of loud contact. Pull side approach. Capable in the infield, had a live arm with throws that topped out at 86 mph; shows soft hands, a quick clean exchange, and athletic consistent feet. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Consistent accuracy to the bag, used a high ¾ slot and a short arm action. During the event, recorded a 60 time of 7.08. 


Kristian Noriega C / OF / Western, FL / 2022

Miami Commit, 6-foot, 190-pound athletic frame. Above average in the box, Noriega had a max exit velocity of 93 mph. Started in an open athletic stance with a controlled tight load, then used a quick stride. Bat speed is quick, displays a short level swing plane and level finish. He found some barrels with some loud contact. Up the middle approach. While catching, throw downs to second were maxed at 77 mph; has a quick exchange, quick feet, and soft consistent hands. had quick feet and transfers on his throw downs, recording a 1.97-2.00 pop time. Staggered setup with above average flexibility. Showed a short arm action and an-over-the-top slot with consistent accuracy to the bag. Recorded a 60 time of 7.24 at the event. 


Santiago Ordonez C / 3B / Stoneman Douglas, FL / 2022

Florida State Commit, 5-foot-8, 189-pound solid mature frame. Above average in the box, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 94 mph. Starts in a tall open stance with a tight controlled load, then uses a big leg kick. Has quick bat speed, short level swing plane and a front foot finish. He found some barrels with some loud contact. Up the middle approach. Behind the plate, he made strong throws to second and produced an efficient position velocity of 81 mph; had quick consistent footwork, soft hands, and a quick exchange. displayed next-level catching ability by boasting a 1.94-1.97 pop time. Staggered setup with above average flexibility. Used an-over-the-top slot and a short arm action while showing consistent accuracy to the bag. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 7.71.


Damian Ortiz OF / AOBA, PR / 2022

6-foot-1, 178-pound athletic frame. Above average in the box, the right-handed hitter's best exit velocity was 94 mph. Started in a balanced athletic stance with a smooth load, then used a short stride. Bat speed was above average, had a short rotational swing plane and a back foot finish. Created some loud contact and found multiple barrels. Gap to gap approach. Athletic in the outfield, he used momentum and arm strength to record throws up to 92 mph;has athletic feet, soft hands, and a quick exchange. Fields the ball to the side, movements laterally were athletic. Consistent accuracy to the bag, used a long arm action and a high ¾ slot. Established speed as one of his strengths with an efficient 60 time of 6.73. 


Jack Owens RHP / OF / Bloomingdale, FL / 2022

Stetson Commit, 5-foot-11, 165-pound athletic frame. Capable at the plate, Owens clocked an exit velocity of 100 mph. Starts in a wide stance with an arm bar load, then uses a controlled stride. Had above average bat speed, long swing plane and a back foot finish. Through his round he found some barrels with some loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Capable from the outfield, he showed above average arm strength by making throws to the infield at velocities up to 91 mph;had athletic footwork, soft hands, and a packing exchange. Fields the ball to the side, movements laterally were athletic. Showed a long arm action and a high ¾ slot with consistent accuracy to the base. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 7.22. Above average on the mound, used a very quick arm action with a high ¾ arm angle while showing electric arm speed. Feel type pitcher who uses easy effort. Showed athletic balance point and in line shoulders. Lands square with an athletic finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 88-90 mph; had command in the zone and some action. Threw his 10/4 curveball (74-77) with sweeping action and in the zone control. 


Rene Ramirez SS / Westminster Christian, FL / 2022

6-foot-2, 184-pound athletic frame. Above average during batting practice, Ramirez had a max exit velocity of 96 mph. Started in a balanced athletic stance with a controlled load, then used a leg kick. Bat speed was above average, showed a long level swing plane and a back foot finish. Through his round he found multiple barrels with a lot of loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Above average while in the infield, made throws at velocities up to 83 mph; had a clean exchange, quick athletic footwork, and soft hands. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were quick. Had a short arm action and a high ¾ slot with consistent accuracy to the base. Recorded a 60 time of 7.0 at the event.


Matt Rose 2B / SS / Calvary Christian, FL / 2022

South Florida Commit, 5-foot-10, 170-pound athletic frame. Above average during batting practice, the right-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 94 mph. Started in a balanced stance with a controlled load, then used a leg kick. Had explosive bat speed, short level swing plane and level finish. He barreled up multiple balls with a lot of loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Above average in the infield, had a live arm with throws that topped out at 85 mph; showed smooth quick feet, soft consistent hands, and a quick exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Consistent accuracy to the bases, used a short arm action and a high ¾ slot. Performed well in the 60-yard dash, clocking a speedy time of 6.83. 


Nathan Tinder RHP / SS / Winter Springs , FL / 2021

Lake Sumter SC Commit, 6-foot-3, 190-pound lean athletic frame. Capable during batting practice, the left-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 93 mph. Began in a balanced stance with a controlled tight load, then used a short stride. Has quick bat speed, short swing plane and level finish. He barreled up some balls with some loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Smooth showed his live arm in the infield with position velocities up to 85 mph; shows athletic feet, soft hands, and a fluid exchange. Athletic throwing from the outfield, he displayed power in his arm with throws up to 90 mph;showed soft hands, a packing exchange, and athletic feet. Glovework is shown to the side Showed a short arm action and a high ¾ slot with consistent accuracy to the bag. Established speed as one of his strengths with an efficient 60 time of 6.68. Above average on the mound, showing some arm speed he had a high ¾ arm angle with a short arm action. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows easy effort. Has a low balance point with in line shoulders. Lands square with a falling off finish. Threw his fastball 84-88 mph and topped out at 89 mph; shows arm side control and running action. Has a 10/4 curveball (73-75) that showed command low in the zone and tight action. His changeup (81-82) had glove side command and fading action.


Jason Torres 3B / 1B / Miami Springs, FL / 2022

Miami Commit, 6-foot-2, 215-pound athletic mature frame. Above average during batting practice, Torres clocked an exit velocity of 100 mph. Begins in a tall open stance with a controlled arm bar load, then uses a big leg kick. Bat speed is explosive, uses a rotational level swing plane and level finish. He found multiple barrels with a lot of loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Athletic in the infield, had a live arm with throws that topped out at 89 mph; has a quick exchange, smooth athletic feet, and soft hands. Movements laterally were athletic. Consistent accuracy to the bases, used a short arm action and a high ¾ slot. Recorded a 60 time of 7.6 at the event. 


Tyler Williams RHP / OF / George Jenkins, FL / 2022

6-foot-3, 160-pound lean athletic frame. Athletic on the mound, showing quick arm speed he used a high ¾ arm angle with a long arm action. Tall-and-fall type pitcher who shows some effort. Displays in line shoulders with an athletic balance point. Lands square with an athletic finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 88-90 mph and topped out at 91 mph; showed swing and miss action and control around the zone. Throws a 11/5 curveball (74-75) with control around the zone and sweeping action. Showed fading action and control around the zone on his changeup (81-82).
