As the PBR family continued to expand into the Atlantic, we’ve officially bridged the gap between us with the addition of PBR Quebec.
To kick things off, we hosted the Montreal Open ID. Here’s a list of players who stood out from our inaugural event in Quebec.

Mathis Rocheleau OF / RHP / Edouard monpetit, QC / 2023Report: Easily the biggest surprise of the day was 2023 outfielder Mathis Rocheleau. After the first swing in BP, we knew there was some juice in the bat. At 6-2, 175, he’s long and loose, gets barrel to the ball quickly, and easily deposited three or four over the fence to his pull-side gap. In the outfield he moves well, but it’s still fairly weak. With a solid frame, Rocheleau will be someone worth keeping an eye on.

Raphael Delisle OF / RHP / N/A, QC / 2021Report: Our first throw ever at a PBR Quebec event came from 2021 Raphael Delisle in the outfield- and it was 91. An uncommitted two-way player, Delisle was byfar the top player at the event. He ran well, he looked the part, and was super athletic at the plate and in the field. On the mound he was low 80s, but there could be some feel there as well. Delisle is an easy pickup for a JUCO at this time of year.

Esteban Dessureault 3B / N/A, QC / 2025Report: The youngest kid at the event was one of the most impressive. At 13-years-old, 2025 Esteban Dessureault crushed in BP. The younger brother of Northwest Florida State commit Yohann, Dessureault put on something of a show in his round. It’s still a ways away, but the youngster has a chance to hit if he’s already going deep at 13 with a wood bat.

Olivier Deschamps SS / RHP / N/A, QC / 2022Report: A good looking player, Olivier Deschamps looked good doing everything. In the infield he was athletic, light on his feet, but had a habit of stopping them at times. At the plate he sprayed the ball to all fields, and had a good feel for the barrel. Then he stepped on the mound and pounded the zone low with a three-pitch mix. A long, lanky player, Deschamps has a chance to develop well.

Brandon Paez SS / 2B / De Mortagne High School, QC / 2022Report: A 2022 infielder, Paez performed well enough to earn an invite to the Rising Stars Combine the following night. At 5-9, 150, he moves well around the infield and can throw it from multiple slots. Feet are a little slow right now, but he’s got time to get stronger. At the plate he gets good extension, and while he lacks bat speed right now, he finds a way to catch barrels.
