Mike Maerz
Director of Florida Operations/Area Scout

From August 1-4th, the Prep Baseball Report Future Games will take place at Grand Park, a state-of-the-art 22-field baseball complex located in Westfield, IN, jus
t north of Indianapolis. This one-of-a-kind event will feature the best uncommitted Class of 2020/2021 prospects from our 35-plus state coverage area.

The Prep Baseball Report Future Games is the premier summer scouting event for Class of 2020/2021 prospects. Last year, more than 250 college coaches from all over the country were in attendance, making it arguably the most heavily recruited event of the summer.

Leading up to the event, we will highlight each team member of Team Florida through a full breakdown. Today we take a look at 2021 3B/RHP Bryce Braxton of Pasco HS, FL:

Scouting Report

06/23/18- Strong bodied two-way standing at 6-foot-1, 190 pounds. Impressed all around where he showed above average actions for his age, feel for the game. Offensively, he shows strength in his swing, driving the ball with authority. Ball jumps off the bat and shows power to the pull side. Homered over the left field wall during game play. Registered an 84 mph exit velocity in the cage. From third he fields the ball under control and out in front with some range, displaying an above average arm and accuracy on his throws across the diamond. Threw one inning on the mound where he retired three batters in a row. Quick arm and features exclusively a fastball at 81-83 mph that showed cut. Braxton shows above average tools for his age and will be a strong follow for his class going forward and he continues to mature.

08/20/17- Strong, athletic build with confidence in his game. Strong hands at the plate and makes hard contact on the ball as he sent multiple line drives into the outfield. Gap-to-gap power to come. In the field he fields the ball under control and with sure hands. Throws to the bag were accurate and had carry to them topping out at 74 mph. Young athlete to follow as he continues to mature.
