2018 Florida Top Prospect Games Positional Breakdown: Outfielders

West Palm Beach, FL- On October 11th, the 2018 Florida Top Prospect Games took place at Henley Field which featured some of the top 2019-2022s throughout the state. Players participated in a pro-style workout followed by a game.
Over the next week, we will breakdown each player by position through report. Today, we take a look at all the outfielders in attendance:
Stan DeMartinis OF / C / American Heritage Delray, FL / 2020Rankings StateRank: 85 / POS: 14
Uncommitted. Currently stands at 5-foot-11, 172 pounds with an athletic frame and strong lower half. Still room to add more to the frame. The PBR Future Games participant has shown the ability to play multiple positions at an above average level and continued to do so throughout the event. From the outfield, he has a quick first step and surrounds the ball, getting behind all of his throws that are accurate and have plenty of carry, topping out at 88 mph which ended up being the highest outfield velocity of the event. Tracks the ball well ranging to his right and left. Behind the plate, he displayed the ability to get into an athletic setup with an above average arm behind the plate as well, topping out at 80 mph on his throws to the bag which was also the top catcher velocity of the event. Offensively, he shows a quick, compact swing and strong hands through the zone with a feel for the barrel, driving the ball gap-to-gap with authority. Consistently made hard contact during batting practice which was also shown in the cage where he registered a 92 mph exit velocity off the tee. DeMartinis has repeatedly has shown above average tools all over the field and will be a really quality addition to a program due to his athleticism and ability to play multiple positions at a high level.

Kendry Noriega OF / Miami Senior, FL / 2020Uncommitted. Currently stands at 6-foot, 155 pounds with a projectable, athletic frame. Room to fill out. Showed his present athleticism early in the day when he tied for the fastest 60 yard dash time of the event at 6.63 seconds. Above average runner on the base paths as well, looks for the extra base and gets good jumps by reading the pitcher. Defensively, he shows quick feet and looks to stay aggressive to the ball, charging towards the slow rollers with a quick release and online throws to the bag that topped out at 87 mph which was the second highest outfield velocity of the event. Offensively, he starts from an open stance from the right side and shows above average bat speed and some feel for the barrel, consistently driving the ball into the gaps during batting practice. Quick hands. With the room he has to fill out, look for a jump in gap-to-gap power which paired with his speed should result in multiple extra base hits. Registered an 86 mph exit velocity in the cage. Noriega already shows some above average tools and with the present athleticism and projectability, he will be a good follow heading into the spring.

Jacoby Long OF / William T. Dwyer, FL / 2020Uncommitted. Currently stands at 5-foot-10, 140 pounds with a wiry, athletic frame. Shows quick twitch, athletic actions all over the field. Clocked in at 6.63 seconds for his 60 yard dash time which tied for the fastest time of the event. From the outfield, he shows a quick first step and is aggressive to the ball, fielding it out in front and under control. Can chase down the ball into the gaps. Showed above average hand speed and strong throws which were on line and accurate to the bag, showing carry and topping out at 85 mph. Offensively, he is a switch hitter and shows loose, quick hands from both sides of the plate. From the right side, he shows a whippy, quick swing that shows some gap-to-gap potential when he stays back and direct to the ball. From the left side, there is some steepness, but some present bat speed. Registered an 82 mph exit velocity in the cage. Long still has plenty of room to fill out and as he continues to strengthen his frame, it will improve his overall game which paired with his present athleticism, which make him an intriguing follow going forward.
