This week’s 2015 Player Spotlight is on Derek West. Derek West is a 6-foot-5 230 pound RHP from Trinity Christian Academy in Deltona Florida. West has a strong, athletic frame and a long 3/4 arm slot. His fastball sits at 89-91 mph but has topped out at 93 mph. West is an athletic player with very high ceiling. West had a 1.55 ERA and struck out 46 in 40 innings pitched last year as a junior for University HS. Derek West has committed to the University of Pittsburgh.
