2014 Draft: Best High School Prospects Available

By Nathan Rode
National Supervisor

There were 74 selections on the first day of the draft and 17 players from the final National Top 50 remain available. The first 18 are off the board and only one from the top 25 is left. Here’s a look at the top high school prospects available, in order of their Top 50 rank, with a quick take on them.

19. Jacob Bukauskas, RHP, Stone Bridge HS, VA (North Carolina)
Bukauskas took the scouting world by storm when he reclassified and became a first-round prospect with a mid-90s fastball, but he is virtually unsignable after sending a message to scouts saying he planned on honor his commitment to North Carolina. He will fall past the 10th round and likely wind up on campus.

26. Milton Ramos, SS, Florida Christian HS, FL (Florida Atlantic)
No one questions Ramos’ glove. He has excellent hands and a strong arm that make him a premium defender, but questions about his bat have likely led to him slipping past the second round.
