Rembish Excited To Play In The South At Wofford

PLANTSVILLE, Ct. - A text on a “random winter day” turned into a life-changer for Logan Rembish.

“They said they would love me to come to a camp,” Rembish reflected on a text he received that helped him hook up with Wofford College. “I was playing basketball at the time and couldn’t go, so they invited me to a camp in June.”

It was just the start of a relationship between the seventh-rated 2025 right-handed pitcher in New England and Wofford, which first saw Rembish at the Future Games in 2022.

“I performed well at the camp and then went to a PBR showcase and got my numbers out and was invited back to the Future Games as a PO,” Rembish explained. “I couldn’t be happier to be there again. I pitched against Team New York and did well. There were a lot of schools there that I had on my radar and always wanted to talk to. Come Aug. 1 the phone was ringing. My first call was with Wofford.”

Come Sept. 1 an offer came and the St. Paul Catholic High School junior accepted before even taking an official visit to the school down south.

“They have a great group of coaches and the coaches are very respectable,” Rembish reasoned why he chose Wofford over offers from Penn State and Delaware. “It all clicked when I went there for the camp. I could see myself there after high school.”

Wofford liked what they saw in Rembish, who is going to the Southern Conference college as a two-way player.

“They love me on the field,” Rembish said. “They love my speed and hitting in the field.”

The opportunity to both pitch and field is a blessing according to the 14th-rated junior in New England.

“That was a great thing to hear,” Rembish explained. “I would have done PO if that was what they wanted, but obviously playing baseball for as long as I can remember and doing both, I’m not ready to put the bat down.”

The idea of playing at the next level came from older brother Ethan Rembish.

“Since he committed to Fairleigh Dickinson his senior year in 2020 I’ve wanted to do it,” Rembish related about his older sibling, who just had Tommy John surgery after his third year in the FDU program.

The drive to get better followed his brother’s college commitment.

“I improved in the weight room and my work ethic,” the sixth-rated 2025 in Connecticut said. “I put it first in my life and numbers-wise and stats-wise it’s showing.”

That improvement eventually helped bring a close to a recruiting process that was both good and bad.

“Aug. 1 was a great day, but other parts like driving and taking planes were a little stressful,” Rembish admitted. “PBR was very helpful with Trevor Brown (PBR Connecticut Director of Scouting). He was respectful and helpful to me and did what he promised.”

St. Paul coaches Vic Rinaldi and Jarrett Stawarz along with CT Canes coaches Craig Frobel and Brett Susi are credited by Rembish with being a major assistance in his development and recruitment along with pitching coach Brian Pendergast and hitting coach Jason Maule.

“A few guys I played with went on to play college baseball and they were also helpful in reassuring me I had a future in baseball,” added Rembish, who still finds it hard to believe he is a D-I commit.

“The moment … it was an experience you can’t describe,” the third-rated junior right-handed-pitcher in Connecticut said about making a college commitment. “You could feel the stress off my back. My family was so thankful and my buddies were telling me congrats. It was all pretty cool.”

Now the focus turns to Wofford, a college known academically as the “Harvard of the South” by many.

“I hope I can play a little as a freshman and help the team win and succeed, just doing what I can do,” the 16-year-old said.

Either business or biology will be the major for Rembish, a 4.0 weighted GPA student at St. Paul, who is excited about what lies ahead at the university located in Spartanburg, S.C., a little more than a 13-hour drive from home.

“As a student/athlete I’m looking to maintain good work in the classroom,” Rembish concluded. “With baseball, I went south for a reason. The winters are a lot better there. I think that will make the whole experience even better.”
