Team New York will be making their way down to Lakepoint Sports in Emerson, GA for the Prep Baseball Report Future Games on July 31-August 4. We take a look at who will be covering the middle of the diamond for the Empire State.

Middle Infielders

 

NOTE: 2022 Michael Mancini (Maine-Endwell), mentioned in the Corner INF preview will also see time up the middle.

 

Marcus Smith SS / OF / All Hallows , NY / 2021 The uber-athletic Smith has been on the statewide and national radar the past year. Plus runner in the 6.6-6.7 range with a recent bump in arm strength. The bat plays with developing power. Nothing flashy; minimal effort.

 

 

Michael Sirota SS / OF / The Gunnery, CT / 2021 The NY resident opened some eyes at the recent NYS Games with some numbers that jumped off the clipboard (6.72 60, 87 arm, 91 exit velocity). Wiry, athletic build at 6-foot-1 170 pounds who can work the ball from line-to-line. Moves well up the middle with a hint of fast-twitch to his actions.

 

 

Michael Lombardi SS / RHP / Fox Lane, NY / 2022 Quite possibly the hardest worker in the PBR system and the ultimate teammate, Lombardi is starting to separate himself in the 2022 class. Checking in at 6-foot-1 175 pounds he profiles on the left side with developing pop at the dish and plenty of arm (85 MPH across the diamond). Lombardi will also serve as Team NY's backup arm on the mound if needed.
