Colorado Top Ranked Uncommitted Seniors
November 4, 2024
There are plenty of names dropping off of the uncommitted board within the state at the moment, but there are still some high-end prospects available in the senior class. Many of these names have been nationally regarded and have played at some of the highest levels at the Prep Baseball national events.
Sam Harry OF / Castle View, CO / 2025Rankings StateRank: 14 / POS: 3
One of the more impressive uncommitted athletes still left on the board is former Future Gamer, Sam Harry. The Castle View outfielder is a two sport athlete (also plays football) who comes in at 6'4'' and 190 Ibs with plenty of strength and twitch. The toolset on Harry consists of a 6.7 60 yard dash, a 94 mph top exit velocity, 76.2 mph bat speed, and an 86 mph outfield throwing velocity. We can also tell you that in spring 2024 at the 5A level, Harry impressed with a .456 average, 5 2B, 6 3B, HR, 11 SB, and a 1.214 OPS across 91 plate appearances. Harry has displayed quality baseball IQ with well-rounded feel of the game at some of the highest levels thus far, and still has quite the ceiling left to go.

Fabian Gaeta LHP / OF / Prairie View, CO / 2025Rankings StateRank: 18 / POS: 2
Gaeta is a 6'3'' wiry/athletic southpaw who has quietly been one of the most successful pitchers in the state over the last few years. The lefty has seen his fastball up to 88 mph while it comes with some outlier metrics thanks to his average IVB (induced vertical break) of 18, and a max spin rate of 2500 rpm. Gaeta is able to mix in a swing and miss slider (~2400 rpm) with some manipulated velocities from 71-76 mph. The pitchablity from Gaeta has also been outlier as he has only managed to walk 24 batters over his last 108.2 innings pitched. In those 108.2 innings pitched at the 5A level he has also struckout 161 batters, allowed 73 hits, and has kept an ERA below 1.66.

Andrew Smart OF / RHP / Arapahoe, CO / 2025Rankings StateRank: 23 / POS: 5
Andrew Smart earned himself a trip to this summer's first ever Senior Future Games after tearing up 5A baseball this last spring. Smart hit .411 with 4 2B, 3B, 7 HR, 5 SB, and a 1.264 OPS across 87 plate appearances. The Arapahoe outfielder (and football player) has a simple approach and swing that has still led to easy power thanks to his twitchy strong frame. Smart is 6'4'' / 182 Ibs and comes with a 6.7 60 yard dash, a 95 mph top exit velocity, and throwing velocities in the mid 80s.

Maverick Scarpella LHP / 1B / Broomfield, CO / 2025Rankings StateRank: 93 / POS: 9
Another intriguing uncommitted southpaw would be Broomfield's Maverick Scarpella. The lefty showcased some strong stuff during this year's West Coast Games as he ramped the fastball up to 88 mph with an average IVB of 15, and a spin rate of around 2,400 rpm. We also saw Scarpella work in a quality slider and curveball combination (~2500 rpm) that generated whiffs and plenty of soft contact against a tough team from Hawaii. Scarpella is a surging left-hander to know at the moment and he does come with a durable frame at 6-foot and 200 Ibs.
