Colorado Summer Kick Off: Quick Hits

On Tuesday, June 4th, the Prep Baseball Colorado staff hosted the Colorado Summer Kick Off event at Metro State University in Denver, Colorado. This event featured ~30 prospects from the 2025 - 2027 classes and allowed our staff an opportunity to get an in-depth look at the players in attendance. Today we'll continue our deep dive into the data collected at this event within this 'Quick Hits' story.

Cael Knobbe RHP / 2B / Cherry Creek, CO / 2025

Knobbe presented some quality all around metrics during the Summer Kick Off event thanks to a fastball up to 84 mph (~2,300 rpms), a slider over 2,800 rpms, a sinker, and a serviceable changeup. The 2025 prospect also posted over a 95 mph top exit velocity with a 79 mph max bat speed to give him some two-way upside as well. Knobbe has an athletic frame with long levers, a projectable body type for future development.Β

Sawyer Morgan RHP / SS / Highland High School, CO / 2025

Morgan flashed some upside with the bat during this event as noted by his 97.3 mph top exit velocity. The soon to be senior is tall and strong with an actively developing swing. Morgan also has some feel in the infield and an 81 mph throwing velocity from shortstop.Β
