Colorado State Games: Quick Hits

Caleb Dameron
Prep Baseball Colorado Staff

On August 6th and 7th, the Prep Baseball Colorado staff hosted this year's Colorado State Games at Metro State University - Denver. This event featured ~120 prospects from the 2025-2028 classes and allowed our staff an opportunity to get an in-depth look at the players in attendance, and during games. Today, we continue our post-event coverage with this 'Quick Hits' story.

QUICK HITS:

Brody Ceyrolles 2B / C / Cherokee Trail High School, CO / 2025

Austin Sickler SS / C / Brighton High School, CO / 2026

Sickler immediately impressed during this event as he posted a quality round of batting practice from the left-side during the showcase portion (94 mph exit velocity / 76 mph bat speed) while displaying advanced feel at shortstop. We can also tell you that before we even played any games, Sickler had an 87 mph infield throwing velocity and a 6.7 60 yard dash time under his belt. During the games, Sickler made some fantastic plays in the infield and racked up the extra-base hits and hard contact. Sickler is actively developing right now and has a higher ceiling as he continues to rise. 5'11'', wiry/athletic, worth a close follow.

Anson Zeschin 1B / OF / Regis Jesuit, CO / 2027

Blake Anderson C / Eaglecrest High School, CO / 2026

Anderson came into this event with some impressive tools behind the plate, but what really showed for the Eaglecrest junior was his ability to crush the baseball during the games. We saw Anderson rack up the barrels in his first game while he followed it up with plate coverage and plenty more quality at-bats in game 2. Anderson continues to develop exceptionally well and comes with an 86 mph catcher throwing velocity, over a 95 mph top exit velocity, an 80 mph top bat speed, and a 7.06 60 yard dash. Certainly a name to note as we head into fall and next year's 2025 season.

Andrew Henderson RHP / 3B / Grand Junction, CO / 2026

Tyler Harvey LHP / 1B / Legend, CO / 2025

Harvey displayed some true lefty/lefty two-way upside during the State Games as he ramped the fastball up to 88 mph and registered a 101 mph top exit velocity with the bat. The southpaw comes in at 6'4'' and 180 Ibs with some outlier athleticism and strength. Harvey was able to generate whiffs on the mound and found the barrel often during the games. We can also tell you that Harvey has some feel for spin thanks to a spin rate around 2,400 rpms on the off-speed and 2,200 rpms on the fastball.

Jackson Pfister RHP / 1B / Grandview High School, CO / 2025

Alex King SS / RHP / Mountain Vista, CO / 2026

Cole Teltschik C / SS / Discovery Canyon, CO / 2026

Teltschik attended this year's Future Games and is another catcher you don't want to miss out on. The soon to be junior has big time strength while still presenting plenty of all around feel on the baseball diamond. We have seen Teltschik catch plenty of unfamiliar (and high-end) arms lately and he has handled them exceptionally well. The toolset on Teltschik comes with an 83 mph catcher throwing velocity, a 95 mph top exit-velocity, and a 73 mph bat speed. Teltschik has a simple approach in the box that has still yielded power and solid results as evidence by his .393 average, 5 HR, and a 1.289 OPS this spring across 88 plate appearances.

Jackson Tuttle RHP / 3B / Highlands Ranch, CO / 2025

Cooper Nider OF / SS / Eaton, CO / 2025

Nider was a big winner with the bat during the State Games thanks to a 102.3 mph top exit velocity and an 80 mph top bat speed which produced plenty of hard contact and extra-base hits during the event. The Eaton outfielder has an athletic frame and comes with a 6.8 60 yard dash, and an 89 mph outfield throwing velocity. A surging top uncommitted senior.

Owen Elser OF / Cherry Creek High School, CO / 2025

Elser is one of the fastest prospects within the state at the moment (6.43 60 yard dash) and he showcased quite well all around during this year's State Games. The Cherry Creek senior posted a 99 mph top exit velocity, a 79 mph top bat speed, and an 81 mph outfield throwing velocity during the workout portion of the event. Elser followed up those numbers with exceptional instincts on the basepaths with an aggressive overall approach to steal bags. The uncommitted outfielder has the tools to flash a big upside in the near future.

Kieran Delaney SS / RHP / Colorado Academy, CO / 2026

Delaney displayed some "hitterish" vibes during the games while also having some solid overall metrics. The Colorado Academy infielder got up to a 98 mph top exit velocity with an 88 mph infield throwing velocity, while also hitting 85 mph off of the mound. Delaney took some impressive at-bats throughout the games and has easy gap to gap power. Quality baseball IQ and worth a close follow.

Hunter Morgan OF / SS / Lewis-Palmer, CO / 2025

Morgan produced some eye-popping numbers during the Colorado State Games thanks to his 94 mph outfield throwing velocity, a 6.9 60 yard dash, and a 93 mph top exit velocity. The 6'2'' / 168 Ibs outfielder hit for a .322 average with a HR, 5 doubles, and 17 stolen bases across 105 plate appearances in spring 2024. Active developer worth watching.
