Prep Baseball Colorado Staff

The end of the year rankings update consists of 200 players from the Colorado 2025 class. This group of prospects includes some draft stock movers at the top, plenty of high-end commits, and still some intriguing uncommitted talent throughout. When creating our rankings, we consider various factors, such as skills, physical abilities, potential, projection, and on-field performance as well.

TOP RISERS:

Vedant Sharma RHP / Fossil Ridge, CO / 2025

Sharma has continued to make jumps in his game as the senior has seen his fastball up to 94 mph over summer and fall. There is also some uniqueness to his surging fastball thanks to around a 16 average IVB (induced vertical break) creating plenty of ride and run through the hitting zone. The tall and strong right-hander pairs his fastball with a quality overhand curveball (2,300+ rpm) and great feel for a changeup. Sharma comes with a physical delivery with plenty of arm speed and body control. The 2023 Future Gamer is committed to playing college baseball at Harvard after this upcoming season, but he also has a chance to potentially put his draft stock into play with a big spring in 2025.

Adam Hayes RHP / 1B / Berthoud, CO / 2025

Hayes has absolutely surged up the rankings after an eye-opening showing during this year's Senior Future Games in Georgia. The fastball on Hayes sat from 89-91 mph, but with some outlier spin around 2,700 rpms. Hayes also presented a quality breaking ball around 79-80 mph (2500+ rpms) with some tight 12/6 action action. The senior has one of the more unique fastballs within the state which has now earned himself a spot on the Texas Tech baseball roster in spring 2026. 6'4'' with a strong and physical frame.

Brendan Fritch C / OF / Broomfield High School, CO / 2025

Fritch has continued to build momentum as we head into the 2025 calendar year. The Broomfield backstop is committed to Davidson to play Division I college baseball after this next spring, and he does come with over a 100 mph top exit velocity, an 80 mph bat speed, a 6.9 60 yard dash, and a catcher throwing velocity around 80 mph. We can also tell you that in spring 2024 at the 5A level, Fritch hit .452 with 11 doubles, 3 triples, a home run, 7 stolen bases, and a 1.260 OPS across 88 plate appearances. We expect Fritch to be a pivotal part of the Broomfield program this season, and he could put up even better numbers in 2025.

Tyler Harvey LHP / 1B / Legend, CO / 2025

Harvey has been actively developing through fall and summer as the southpaw now has his fastball up to over 90 mph. The senior comes with a 6'4'' frame at 180 Ibs with some real upside on the mound thanks to his natural movement, velocity, and deception. Harvey is able to pair his fastball with a competitive slider and curveball mix that sits around 2,300 rpm on the spin. The surging lefty got to display his talents at the 2024 West Coast Games where he represented Team Colorado against Team Hawaii. Harvey is now committed to the University of Las Vegas to continue his athletic and academic career.

Jason Olsen SS / RHP / Legacy, CO / 2025

Chandler Gilbert CC commit

Nate Wochner OF / 3B / Broomfield, CO / 2025

Brigham Young University commit

Josh McWilliams OF / OF / Chaparral, CO / 2025

Fort Hays State commit

TOP UNCOMMITTED:

Fabian Gaeta LHP / OF / Prairie View, CO / 2025

Gaeta is a 6'3'' wiry/athletic southpaw who has quietly been one of the most successful pitchers in the state over the last few years. The lefty has seen his fastball up to 88 mph while it comes with some outlier metrics thanks to his average IVB (induced vertical break) of 18, and a max spin rate of 2,500 rpm. Gaeta is able to mix in a swing and miss slider (~2,400 rpm) with some manipulated velocities from 71-76 mph. The pitchablity from Gaeta has also been outlier as he has only managed to walk 24 batters over his last 108.2 innings pitched. In those 108.2 innings pitched at the 5A level he has also struckout 161 batters, allowed 73 hits, and has kept an ERA below 1.66.

Andrew Smart OF / RHP / Arapahoe, CO / 2025

Andrew Smart earned himself a trip to this summer's first ever Senior Future Games after tearing up 5A baseball this last spring. Smart hit .411 with 4 2B, 3B, 7 HR, 5 SB, and a 1.264 OPS across 87 plate appearances. The Arapahoe outfielder (and football player) has a simple approach and swing that has still led to easy power thanks to his twitchy strong frame. Smart is 6'4'' / 182 Ibs and comes with a 6.7 60 yard dash, a 95 mph top exit velocity, and throwing velocities in the mid 80s.

Maverick Scarpella LHP / 1B / Broomfield, CO / 2025

Another intriguing uncommitted southpaw would be Broomfield's Maverick Scarpella. The lefty showcased some strong stuff during this year's West Coast Games as he ramped the fastball up to 88 mph with an average IVB of 15, and a spin rate of around 2,400 rpm. We also saw Scarpella work in a quality slider and curveball combination (~2,500 rpm) that generated whiffs and plenty of soft contact against a tough team from Hawaii. Scarpella is a surging left-hander to know at the moment and he does come with a durable frame at 6-foot and 200 Ibs.
