Each week during the high school season, the PBR Colorado staff will announce our 'Players of the Week' awards for that particular week. Numerous players from across the state will continue to perform and put up numbers weekly, though only one position player and one pitcher can take home this award each week. Below you'll see which players have earned our 'Player of the Week' honor this spring season. We will also highlight those that fell short in our weekly 'Diamond Notes' article, where you can learn more about the standout names across the CHSAA.

Walker Martin SS / Eaton , CO / 2023 Martin is your clear-cut player of the week as he went 10 for 14 with 18 RBI, 5 home runs, a triple, 2 doubles, and 11 runs scored. Martin also broke two school records in week 9 as he is now the Eaton single season home run and RBI leader in the school's history, with three games still left to play. The Arkansas commit's elite left-handed swing has produced a .638 average, 2.386 OPS, 16 HRs, and 60 RBI in 20 games this season. Martin's 16 home runs currently lead the nation as well.

 

Sean Barta RHP / OF / Rock Canyon, CO / 2023 Barta was very efficient in Rock Canyon's 2-1 win against a ranked Mountain Vista squad in week 9. The Pima commit only needed 88 pitches to rack up 15 strikeouts in a complete game effort. Barta also only allowed two hits and just one earned run while not walking a single batter. The senior has pitched to the tune of a 1.88 ERA across 41 innings while striking out 50 hitters. Barta also has over a .400 average at the plate with 7 home runs in 2023.
