Pitcher Analysis:  Best of the Best

Bailey Hansen, RHP, Air Academy High School, 2016
6-foot-5, 205-pound right-handed pitcher, was the top pitcher at this year’s USG.  He impressed with an 88 MPH fastball and good command of the zone.  Throwing from a motion with good balance and drive to the plate, his tall body allows him to deliver a pitcher that gets on you in a hurry.  He has an over the top motion and good arm speed on all pitches.  His curve was 67-69 with 11/5 break and most of the time it started in the middle of the plate and worked off the outside corner.  He added a 76 MPH change that had good down movement.

Best of the Rest:  Listed Alphabetically

Jake Clark, RHP, Rock Canyon High School 2016
6-foot-2, 220-pound right-handed pitcher, who throws from a balanced motion.  He has a long arm with a slight wrap on his fastball.  He lands with a slightly open stance and has good lower leg drive through the pitch.  His fastball was 80-83 at the USG with good command of the inner half of the plate.

Keven Mackintosh, LHP, Cherokee Trail High School, 2016
6-foot-0, 205-pound left-handed pitcher, who showed good mound presences at this event.  He balances up and throws slightly across his body on delivery.  He comes from a high ¾ arm slot and shows consistent release point and arm speed on all pitches.  His fastball sat between 76-79 at the USG and he did a nice job of working the outside portion of the plate.  He showed a 66-68 MPH curve and a 70 MPH change during game play.  At the plate he hits from a strong power stance with 60/40 weight distribution.  He had one of the highest exit velocities off the pitch at 90 MPH.  He does a nice job of staying inside the baseball and using both gaps.  He ran an 8.4 60

Christian Manmano, RHP, Legend High School, 2016
5-foot-11, 160-pound right-handed pitcher, who sinks and drives to the plate.  He lands in line with the plate and stays in good position through delivery.  He throws from an over the top arm slot with a quick arm that produced an 85 MPH fastball at the USG.  He does a nice job of showing the same release and arm speed on all pitches.  He displayed a 63-65 MPH curve that has good sharp late break to the right hand hitter.  He ran a 7.1 60.

Nick Morris, RHP, Grandview High School, 2016
6-foot-6, 180-pound right-handed pitcher, who continues to impress at each event.  He stays tall through the balance point then drives to the plate.  He does a nice job of closing ground to the plate on his delivery.  He lands in line and stays square.  Morris featured a fastball that was 81-84 at the USG and moved the ball well to both sides of the plate.  He delivers from a high ¾ arm angle.  He does a nice job of keeping the release and arm speed consistent for all pitches.  He displayed a 68-70 MPH curve that had sweeping break away from the right hand hitter.
