With our first premier event of 2019 a few weeks away, we wanted to introduce you to players who are registered. We continue our look at Underclass Invitational participants is 2022 1B/RHP Max Randis of Lewis Palmer High School.

PBR:  Describe yourself as a baseball player to those who have never seen you play:
Randis: I like to think of myself as the team player that others would want.  I work hard to be the best that I can be and support my teammates to be the best they can be as well.

PBR:  What would be your dream school to play baseball at?  If you have already committed to play at the next level, why did you choose that particular school?
Randis: I have grown up in the west and would like a school such as Boise State which is just bringing back baseball and I have family ties to that school.  It would be great to be a part of a new program and help it grow.

PBR:  What are your best assets on and off the field at this point in your high school career?
Randis: I have learned to not allow mistakes or error’s which happen, to not impact my continued play or attitude.  My dad and coaches have taught me to pick yourself up and be ready for the next play or pitch that you make.

PBR:  What is the best baseball advice you have received and try to follow to this point in your career?
Randis: Practice like your play.  Have fun and learn from what you are doing at all and always try to think ahead on what you need to do if the ball comes your way.  What do you do with it, what’s my play with it?

PBR: What does your off-season routine look like to prepare for the upcoming season?
Randis: I work out at Redline Athletics at least 4 times per week.  Speed, Agility, Core workouts to be physically ready to play.

PBR:  What are your superstitions or routines that go on during a season?
Randis: My most consistent routine is at the plate.  I tap the plate 2 times, outside corner and inside corner to make sure I cover any pitch.  When I pitch take a long slow breath to relax before each pitch.

PBR:  What are your goals for:

This Season: I am a Freshman so my goal is to make the JV squad as a Freshman at Lewis Palmer.  LP is a good program so it won’t be easy but that is my goal for this year.

Two Years: Stay healthy, keep my grades up and be considered the #1 pitcher on the Varsity roster.

Four Years: Again stay healthy, keep my grades up and find a school that would be a great fit for their program and for my continued play as a baseball player and achieve my education.
