Scouting Report
8-6-16
6-foot-2, 205 pounds. Very simple and clean delivery with poise on the mound. Big presence for his age. Motion lulls you to sleep then brings a fastball at 80-82 mph touching 83 from an over the top arm slot. Arm is short on backside, hides it well, then it's on you. Lands inline to the plate then falls off to 1B. Curve had late 11/5 tilt at 68 mph. Will be a high pitching prospect in our state. At the plate had a good weekend. Stands slightly open and tall. Loads hands back with short stride. Could gain a little more separation. Bottom hand finish. Gap to gap power. Registered a 80 mph exit velocity off a tee. At 3B has good feet for big kid. Arm velo was 72 mph across diamond from quick high 3/4 arm slot. Got behind the dish to catch and showcased a 1.9 pop-time off a coach. Ran a 8 flat laser timed 60.

6-foot-3, 170 pounds. Bats and throws right. Lanky player. Projectable. Throws from over high 3/4 arm slot. Wraps back a little. Fastball lived between 82-84 mph and there is more there if hand is on top a little more. Lands inline then spins towards 1B. Curveball was 70 mph with 11-5 shape. Also threw a slider with late depth at 72 mph. Change was same arm speed as fastball at 76-77 mph. Nice prospect.

6-foot-1, 195 pounds. Bats and throws right. Wide-shouldered with a large frame that still has more development to come. Raw strength that is only going to get better. Simple, short path and approach, and the ball jumps off his bat gap to gap. 91 mph exit velocity. Has athleticism. Has enough speed to play corner outfield positions and possibly third as well. Ran a 4.28 home to first. On the mound delivered mainly out of a ¾ slot although he changed angles to manipulate different pitches. Fastball was 80-82 touching 84. Solid three pitch mix. Deceptive. Curveball was 68-69 mph. Good athlete who simplifies everything.

6-foot-1, 185 pounds. Bats and throws right. At the plate stands tall with a slight open stance that he closes down with a short stride. Strong kid. Swings down and through the ball with very good extension off a firm front side. All weekend generated gap to gap power, which included a monster 400 plus homerun to right center. At 1B has soft hands, good feet around the bag, and throws from a short high 3/4 arm-slot at 82 mph. On the mound he slightly crouches, and could add more velo with more leg drive towards plate, but still generated a fastball that sat 80-82 touching 84. Curve was 68-69 with late sharp break. Lands in-line then falls off towards 1B. Ran a 7.6 laser timed 60.

5-foot-9, 170 pounds. Switch hitter, throws right. Slight crouch, and has unique timing mechanism from both sides where he loads down, pauses, then attacks ball with slight uphill swing, and simple. Worked for him and had a good round from both sides with solid line drive contact. Bat speed is there at 85 and 86 mph exit velo off the tee. Also showcased a strong arm in OF throwing 79 mph. Intriguing prospect with a good skill set. Also ran one of the better home to first times at 4.2.

6-foot-1, 160 pounds. Bats and throws left. Effortless windup that lands inline to plate. Arm is very quick as well. Solid frame and projectability to be a very good pitcher. Fast ball had some run, and was 80-81 mph. Hides ball well. Tough to pick up. Off speed pitcher have same arm speed with good variation of speeds. Change was 71-72 mph with some sink, and curve was 60-61 mph with 1/7 shape. Player to follow in our state.
8-6-16
6-foot, 155 pounds. Nice projectable frame. Arm works well with body. Is loose. Comes from a short back side where he hides the ball and then arm is fast. Gets good leg drive and throws off two feet. Falls towards 3B side. Fastball was 77-79 mph touching 80. Polished looking lefty for his age. Curveball was 68 mph with good late break. Nice 2019 in our state to follow.

5-foot-6, 140 pounds. Bats left throws right. Shelley is a do-it-all baseball player. At the plate hits from a crouch, toe-tap stride, hands load back with uphill swing. Gets full rotation in lower half. Off the tee produced a 79 mph exit velocity. Shelley has plus arm strength with body size in the outfield had top arm velo of 89 mph, and in the infield was 85 across the diamond from a high 3/4 arm slot. Looks fundamentally solid from both positions. On the mound throws from same arm slot, was inline towards plate, comes through then recoils back after pitch. Fastball lived at 80-82 touching 83 mph. Has high hips so you can see he's going to grow a lot more. Curveball had tight spin with 11/5 shape living at 66-67 mph. Ran a 7.3 laser timed 60. When he grows into body could easily project into upper 80's arm..possibly 90.

6-foot-1, 170 pounds. Bats left throws right. Lanky athletic frame with quick hands at the plate. Swing works well and he has some strength although he is still wiry. Utilizes funky hand-cock to initiate his load which causes the swing to get long at times, but the ball jumps off the bat, and he produced a 91 mph exit velocity. Just a lot of things going on that he has to get out of the way to be on time. There is a foundation for him to get better. At 1B arm slot is lower then on mound. Good footwork around bag. 76 arm velo to 3B. On the mound stays tall in stretch then drops and drives. Over the top arm slot. Could add more velocity if hand was on top more, but fastball was consistently 78-79 mph. Projetable frame on mound. Stides out and long towards plate to create good extension. Closes the distance. Changeup is same arm speed as fastball but stops arm in from of body instead of coming through like he does on fastball with 71 mph velo.
