Q&A with Wichita State Commit, Charlie Rogan
February 28, 2022
Regis Jesuit first baseman took the time to talk with PBR Colorado about his recruitment process and what made him choose Wichita State. He also touched on what it was like not having a lot of interest early on and how he was able to get on the Shockers on radar.
Charlie goes into to further detail and offers advice to younger players in Colorado who are currently trying to get noticed by college coaches and recruiters.

Q&A with Charlie Rogan
Q: What was the recruiting trail like for you? Were colleges interested early on and how did you get on the college coaches radars?
Rogan: My recruiting trail was a lot different than most. I was not getting a lot of interest early, but I just kept focusing and playing hard and it all worked out for me. I think the easiest way to get on a coaches radar is by reaching out to schools and getting in touch with coaches in any way possible.
Q: You are committed to Wichita State, how did you connect with them and what was it like talking to their staff? Did you visit, and if so how was that?
Rogan: Wichita State reached out to me in October of 2020, and I quickly fell in love with the program, coaches, and facilities. I visited and instantly knew it was the right place for me.
Q: What made you choose Wichita State over other schools that gave you offers?
Rogan: Wichita State seemed like the right place for me. They have a very impressive coaching staff, very nice facilities, and a great program.
Q: Now that you have finished your recruitment process, do you have any advise for young '23s, ‘24s, 25’s or even ‘26s who have just started this process?
Rogan: I think my only advice would just be to work hard. You need to remind yourself that someone is out there working harder than you. You have to want it more than anyone else and never give up.
Q: Lastly, out of all the PBR events you have attended in your career, what has PBR meant to you during your time playing baseball in Colorado?
Rogan: PBR has meant a lot to me. They did a great job getting my name out there and they work really hard to do the same for every baseball player in the country..
