Q&A with Parker Murrow

Q: You attended the Future Games in Georgia. When you left the event and headed back to Colorado, what was your overall impression of the event?

Murrow: The event was run really well. The setup allowed for a ton of exposure for the players. College recruiting was everywhere. Great atmosphere to play in.

Q: What was the recruiting trail like for you, before you attended the Future Games? Were colleges interested early on and how did you get on the college coaches radars?

Murrow: Before the Future Games my coaches would have to make contact with the coaches for me and try and get them to my games. It started freshman summer but was slow.

Q: You are committed to Charleston Southern, how did you connect with them and what was it like talking to their staff? Did you visit, and if so how was that?

MurrowI connected to Charleston first at a tournament in Georgia and, then they again saw me at  the Future Games. The coach I was in contact with was awesome. He made the process easy for me. I took my visit and loved the campus, all of the coaches, and the players. I fell in love with the location making my decision easier.

Q: What made you choose Charleston Southern over other schools that gave you offers?

Murrow: I chose Charleston Southern because of how well, and easily, me and the coach connected. He is a great guy and I was able to connect with him on a personal level. It makes a huge difference when the coach shows the same interest in you that you show in his school. Also, the campus and location of the school were a big factor. It doesn’t get better than Charleston, South Carolina.

Q: Now that you have finished your recruitment process, do you have any advise for young '23s, ‘24s, 25’s or even ‘26s who have just started this process?

MurrowMy advise would be to give 100% all the time. Coaches are always watching and the difference in them being interested or not could be your attitude and effort.

Q: Lastly, out of all the PBR events you have attended in your career, what has PBR meant to you during your time playing baseball in Colorado?

Murrow: The interest and dedication PBR has shown in me personally has been amazing. They invited me to the Future Games, which ended up being where I got my offer, and their hard work at showcases makes them a great organization to be involved in.
