Q&A with Bowen Tabola
Q: You attended the Future Games in Georgia. When you left the event and headed back to Colorado, what was your overall impression of the event?
Tabola: I was incredibly impressed with the opportunity to get in front of a ton of college coaches and show everyone my strengths on the baseball field. The amount of top level college coaches in attendance was amazing. Think of a school and they were there, I promise.
Q: What has the recruiting process been like for you now and before the Future Games?
Tabola: Before the Futures Games, I had talked to a few different coaches, but nothing much. However, every coach I’ve talked to since then has referenced what they saw me do at the Futures Games. I’m still seeing the positive effects it has had on my recruiting.
Q: What was it like playing with some of the top talent in the nation at at the Future Games?
Tabola: The chance to hangout with a bunch of great baseball players was an absolute blast. I feel like the saying, “iron sharpens iron” was on full display during the week.
Q: What are you most excited about for the ’22 high school season?
Tabola: For the ‘22 high school season, I am most excited for the opportunity to lead a scrappy team to the state playoffs. We don’t have the flashy players, but we have a ton of talent and potential on our roster. All we need is someone to bind everyone together and get them to buy in. I’m looking forward to being that guy.
Q: Who had the biggest impact on your baseball career?
Tabola: My baseball career has been most impacted by my trainer and hitting coach, Travis Mitchell. He has not only taught me how to swing a bat and lift weights properly/efficiently, but he has taught me how to play the game maturely and make baseball my profession.
Q: Lastly, out of all the PBR events you have attended in your career, what has PBR meant to you during your time playing baseball in Colorado?
Tabola: PBR has been a wonderful help to the advancement of my baseball career. Coach Mike Anderson, along with the rest of the PBR staff, has been super welcoming and knowledgeable in the recruiting process and how to make it to the next level.
