Holly Captures 1A State Title

The Holly Wildcats captured the 1A State Title on Friday defeating Flemming by a score of 5-0. This capped off an impressive run by the Wildcats through the districts and state tournament. Here is a look at the road Holly took to the 1A State Baseball crown.
1A Districts:
Holly 11 Springfield 1
Holly 5 Eads 1
Granada 11 Holly 1
1A State:
Holly 10 Nucla 0
Ricardo Juarez was all the wildcats needed going 5 innings giving up 4 hits, 0 runs and collecting 8 K’s.
Holly 15 Eads 4
The Wildcats win big in game two of the playoffs, this time Ricardo Juarez does it at the plate going 4-4 with 5 RBI. The Wildcats as a team scored 15 runs on 13 hits.
Holly 5 Flemming 0
The Wildcats capture the championship by shutting out Flemming and dominating the tournament on the mound giving up only 4 runs in 3 games and out scoring their opponents 30-4.
