FUTURE GAMES COMMITMENT TRACKER
With the colder weather continuing to move in, we have a couple months to unpack everything we saw this summer before we get back at it in January with a pair of ID events.
We’re now four months out from the PBR Future Games at LakePoint in Georgia and we already have a handful of commitments out of Colorado. We have a pair of players going the Power Five route via the SEC and Big 12, with the other four commitments spread out through the AAC, MVC, Mountain West and Big East.
Here’s a quick look at the first six commitments from Colorado’s 2021 Future Games team.

Walker Martin SS / 3B / Eaton , CO / 2023
Arkansas
Walker was one of the more intriguing players we brought to Georgia and his tools were on full display, along with his size and physicality. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound shortstop has plus hand speed from the left side which helped generate his 99 mph exit velocity. He has the ability to work the opposite field while also getting to the inside pitches. Defensively, he has great range to both sides and was 83 across the diamond in Georgia. Really exciting toolset and look from Martin which has him pegged as the top ‘23 in the State and No. 117 in the entire class.

Tate Smith RHP / 1B / Eaton, CO / 2023
Oklahoma State
The ace of our Future Games staff, Smith is an athlete and physically gifted at 6-foot-5, 200-pounds. The Cowboys commit sat 88-90 in Georgia, touching 92 with armside run. Our staff has seen great development in his ability to repeat his delivery and attack the zone. His slider at 84 has downward action and has the chance to become a true wipeout pitch. Currently developing a changeup, as well. With his size/athleticism, three-pitch mix and repeatable delivery, he’ll be a high-ceiling player to follow in Colorado.

Tommy Marsh 3B / RHP / Cherry Creek, CO / 2023
Tulane
Marsh was one of the players we saw this summer who showed potential positionally and on the bump. The Cherry Creek HS product has a strong build at 6-foot-1, 195-pounds and uses a balanced lower half to create great rotational acceleration from the right side. Marsh has quick hands and we had a 100 mph exit velo from him back in June. He’s also solid and reliable at third base with a strong arm. On the mound he sits 86-87 with armside run on the fastball to go along with a good, tight slider. Intriguing two-way player with strength in all areas of his game.

Jacob Syverson RHP / C / Holy Family, CO / 2023
Missouri State
Syverson is someone who came in as a two-way player with potential but really jumped out on the mound. He had a great High School season with Holy Family where he stood out with his pitchability and feel for the mound. Syverson sat 85-87, topping out at 89 and has the ability to locate all of his pitches. He creates great tempo with a consistent release and short backside. As a right-handed hitter, he’s balanced with a middle of the field approach and exit velocities of 90+. Impressive catcher pop times of 1.83-1.91. Great all-around game from Syverson who is headed to Missouri State.

Finley Bates SS / 3B / Douglas County, CO / 2023
San Diego State
Bates was a standout in Georgia this summer with his actions and feel for the middle of the diamond. He consistently makes routine plays and his hands play through the ball with active feet. Offensively, the right-handed hitter creates max bat speed and has an aggressive, gap-to-gap approach. Strong production and Bates gets results in every game he plays. It was a big summer for the Yard Dawgs product who’s tools continued to improve.

Ashtin Gilio 2B / OF / Alexander Dawson, CO / 2023
Georgetown
Gilio is a versatile switch-hitter who got noticeably stronger this year which translated into his game and metrics. As a LHH he has the ability to use the left-centre gap and pull the ball with outstanding balance and great zone discipline. He’s proven he can handle velo and shows the same discipline from the right side with slightly more pop. Defensively, the athleticism plays where he runs a 6.70 and can handle any outfield position along with 2B/3B. An exciting prospect who continued to trend upwards this summer and it's no surprise to see him heading to Georgetown.
